Cabin, 1 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 4 Sleeps

Maple Leaf Cabin is a cozy cabin located on Maple Lake, a 172 acre

all sports lake fed by the Paw Paw River. Paw Paw is conveniently

located just off I-94, approximately 2 hours from both Chicago and

Detroit. The cabin has just been remodeled and is ready for your

visit. Enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake as you sip your coffee or

glass of local wine. We have just added a huge

screened porch with floor to ceiling views of the lake. Dine, read,

nap, play board games, even sleep on the porch and wake up to the

sun shimmering on the lake.

Peaceful and Serene

  • 5 of 5
These past few days at Maple Leaf Cabin were bliss. From the well-appointed cabin to the helpful neighbors to the convenience of the village, this was an incredible vacation. The cabin had almost everything needed (the next time - and I hope there will be a next time! - I will bring binoculars) and a quick trip to the grocery provided the rest.

The cleanliness of the cabin was amazing throughout. There were plenty of supplies available, and that includes the wood for the fire pit. Shawn, the owner, was helpful and easy to work with. The village of Paw Paw has many non-chain restaurants, including the best root beer stand (Red's) and a wonderful Italian restaurant (La Cantina) easy to find.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cabin to my closest family and friends, although I would worry the availability would decrease!

Super cute cabin in idyllic setting

  • 4 of 5
The owner put a lot of time and effort in creating a storybook cabin setting with Ralph Lauren style theme of maple leaves, ducks and fish. The attention to detail continues through the outdoor space with the red, white and yellow flowers everywhere, with matching adirondack chairs. The screen porch is wonderful, and we slept on it most nights. My husband especially loved the outdoor shower. We loved going out in Miss Maple and the canoe. And the swan family added a nice touch. It's wonderful to be able to bring your pet (Rufus LOVED it), and the house showed no signs of pets having been there with odors or fur, etc. Our 9 year old daughter loved it as well.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because, although pretty to look at, the lake isn't the best for swimming. Another thing to consider is that it's probably best for one or two people--and those who pack lightly. There isn't much space to store clothes or luggage, so we had to have a lot of things out. The charm of the house was diminished with the clutter of our stuff.

Owner's Response: Yes, Maple Lake is definitely more of a fishing and boating lake than a swimming lake--seems most of the swimming is done by our canine guests. And while an additional guest or two are more than welcome, the cabin is really best suited to a couple (and their dog) as it has just the one bedroom. Still I'm glad you all seemed to have a good time and can visit again some time soon..

Best Place Ever!

  • 5 of 5
My girlfriend and I had the best time relaxing on the big beautiful screened in porch. Watching the ducks and swans that came by. The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. Miss Maple was the highlight of our stay. Cabin has just about everything you need to make you not want to leave at the end of your stay! Even had a hard time getting the dogs into the car to go home!! Looking forward to another wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin to all who need to get away but don't want to have to travel a far distance. The only thing I would recommend is that you bring food and drink from home. The food prices were quite expensive in town. Still the best place I've stayed at for a short vacation ever!!!

Fell more in love with cabin and lake everyday

  • 5 of 5
My boyfriend and I had an amazing 4 day weekend here with our two dogs. The cabin is wonderfully themed and there is fantastic screened in porch to enjoy the lake and wildlife in any weather, we even fell asleep out there two nights in a row. The lake is literally right out your back door along with ducks and swans who come to visit through out the day. Our favorite part was cruising Miss Maple, the pontoon boat. Worth ever penny! The lake is beautiful and well maintained and just gorgeous to be out on a boat, especially like Miss Maple. We had great weather everyday and were out on the boat majority of the time. One of the best things about this rental was the promptness and easygoingness of the renter, Shawn. She made everything so easy and stress free and she treated you like a friend rather than just money in her pocket. We go on many vacations and rent and this is by far the easiest most stress free vacation I have planned thanks to Shawn. She is very easy to contact. Overall, we had amazing time at this great little gem in Paw Paw, MI and will definitely be coming back. Thanks for your hospitality Shawn! And thanks to your neighbors for helping as well!

Like having your very own special place

We spent a wonderful week at the cabin. It's beautiful in the pictures online which are all during the summer and it's equally amazing during the winter months with snow all around it and the lake covered with snow, and the geese and the swans, it was magical. We made good use of the fire pit our second night there before the snow got to deep and the temp dropped too low. It was warm, cozy and had everything we needed right at our fingertips. We all had a great time and would recommend this cabin to everyone in any season.

Heaven on earth

From the moment we stepped in we were mesmerized. The view is spectacular, the wildlife ( Birds, squirrels, ducks, swans, etc.) are entertaining, and the decor is detailed to the max with the maple theme. Everything you need is thought of, and we highly recommend Miss Maple, the pontoon boat. Fishing was great, and the town is close with wineries, restaurants, and more. One of the best times we've ever had and can't wait to go again.
