Wonderful place, perfect weekend
Scott delivers what he advertises!
The home was as advertised, was in impeccable condition, and what a great house. We all had room to spread out, and it was unbelievably convenient to EVERYTHING. We stayed here as I wanted to be in a home neighborhood vs The Quarters. (not that there's anything wrong with that)The restaurants uptown are not to be believed. So good.
The house is wonderful, when I travel I always rent villas and will not stay in hotels. This house was the bomb. The jetted tub was alot of fun! and romantic by candlelight. The main bedroom does indeed cover the whole upstairs.
Obviously, if you have traveled, you know that quirks arise anywhere, but that was very minimal in our experience. A light or two out does not negate the wonderful experience, and I am so happy that we booked this particular residence. I would stay here again in a hearbeat, if he'd have us.
The pics and video are true to life, but don't do the home justice. Magazine street is RIGHT at your fingertips!
NO itself is wonderful.....my best tip would be the street fair at Freret Market..once a month Sat. got all my souvenirs there.
We ate at La Petite Grocery, Commanders Palace, Upperline (Joanne rocks), Atchafalaya, Revolution, , Mr. B's, Coquette, The Italian Barrel, Antoinnes, Irenes, Louisiana Bistro "FEED ME"
I did not have a bad meal in NO, period. I highly rec all.
Overall? GREAT EXPERIENCE!!
Thank you, Scott!
Excellent location and great house
Enjoyed this charming home for a third time!
Another fantastic stay!
Lots of good restaurants are very close by, whether you want breakfast, lunch or dinner. Obviously the kitchen in the house is also top notch, so if you want a night in with a home cooked meal and to relax and watch a movie, you're catered for on all fronts.
This really does have the feel of a home away from home. We stay in many rented flats and hotels on business trips, but this really is our favourite. We do hope we will be back to New Orleans and get to stay in this lovely house again.
Activity and Interests
The following is just a sampling of my favorite restaurants, music venues, and fun things to do close to my home:
Mona's: excellent Mediterranean food, inexpensive, BYOL; Baru: (great tapas) Jamaican cuisine; 2 fantastic French restaurants: Petite Grocery and Lilette; Theo's pizza; Ignatius Eatery (all New Orleans food); Nirvana: Indian cuisine; Casamento's: best oysters in the city; Savvy Gourmet Restaurant; Superior Grill; Canon's Restaurants on scenic St. Charles; Fuel Coffee House and Magazine Perks for goood coffee; Le Bon Temps Roule (great local live music, NEVER a cover charge, good late food), Brother's III Lounge (more of a local neighborhood bar); Ms. Maes famous 24 hour iconic bar; Buddah Belly Bar; Fat Harry's Bar; and of course, world renown Tipitina's for big name live music, and of course, all or the eclectic shops on Magazine St (too numerous to count!)
Very close (VERY short drive, longer walk): Dick and Jenny's: a must (probably the best food in the city...really!); La Crepe Nanou, French, in expensive, my favorite; Frankis and Johnny's; Sunday brunch or cocktails at Column's Hotel; Commander's Palace for the ultimate classy New Orleans experience, sushi at Kyoto; evening live music at Dos Jefe's Cigar Bar, Upperline Restaurant, Balcony Bar and Grill, Bulldog Bar and Grill, Cafe Rani (good place to sit outside under a big oak), August Moon (Chinese); Mahoney's Po Boy Shop (great Po Boys!); Delachaise and Canon's Restaurants on scenic St. Charles Ave; Nacho Mama's (Mexican and GREAT margaritas); Reginelli's Pizzaria; Prytania Theatre (stand alone neighborhood movie theater); cemetery and Garden District walking tours,
