“There is a love of wild nature in everybody,' a must family adventure!!

Awh....the smell of a campfire in a lush alpine valley with distant scenic views of El Captain and Yosemite Valley while in a hot tub on a private ranch where the buffalo roam.. The rate is $300 a day and includes everything, The whole agritourism experience, which means you can bring your entire group, your pets, your motor home and tents, your firearms and have the sense to be an American once again, to be truly free! Cruise around the ranch with your family and love ones on one of our new ATV's and site see nature and all its splendor, and yes this is included! We are not a cheesy hotel nor a motel or a bed and breakfast. Those you can find elsewhere, in fact to use a cabin is entirely free while here on the ranch because you are here on agritourism for a $300/daily rate for your group! Unlike most vacation rentals on this site; they have too much neighbor congestion, and someone watching you and your family from every corner and the place looks like there will be no privacy on your vacation again with you and your family. Well not here, this is a working private 125 year old large American historic ranch nestled within a lush alpine valley of its own directly West of Yosemite.

Private fishing, swimming, ATV and horseback riding, and there is nothing like tubing down a river on a sunny day with just your family. The ranch keeps Agri/tourism as its number one objective so you and your family can learn about what its like to be on a farm. You can collect your own chicken eggs, pick herbs, spices, and vegetables from the greenhouse, and feed the pigs your leftovers for the whole ranch experience. We have roping lesions, clay pigeon shooting, and archery range, horseback riding, kayaking .. i say no more!!

Like 'Paul Bunyan' all structures on this iconic ranch are handcrafted from whole natural logs and raw saw milled timber right off the land! This ranch is the perfect place to relax, fish, swim and peacefully unwind. One could even horseback ride down to a private spring fed waterfall or river and prospect for gold! We offer our guests to 'get unplugged' and privately experience the ranch! Please see our reviews!

'Here on this scenic ranch you will feel like your in the middle of Montana but, amazed as I drove out of the main entrance gate and was only 5.5 miles/less than 15 minutes from fine dining, shopping, and museums!' - (Andrew Leon of Orange County)

About the Owner

Your more of an American while out on a our private ranch, more free to do and become what you want, the life style Americans were originally intended to live and fought for with all rights from freedom by our forefathers! . The owner is a self made pioneer in all senses of the word. Perhaps the last of his kind, the ranch has been privately owned since 1885 and since, purchased in 2000, Bronse has brought the ranch once in ruins back to its original prime state. He has personally handcrafted real log cabins made off the land using raw lumber made from his sawmill, whole logs from dead standing timber, and natural granite rocks for massive fireplaces in each cabin. Your are welcome to camp, bring a motor home, hike around, and simply be free about and all its splendor while you are enjoying the great out doors here on the ranch!

Such a wonderful place this is....

Before we left, I told Bronse, the owner that he was blessing others with what he provides. It is a glimpse into a life very different from the current hectic pace so common now and offers experiences we could not get elsewhere. Our family was blessed in ways that cannot be put into words. To take in God's creatures peacefully grazing in front of the lodge, gazing at the stars and watching our family, who now live a distance from one another gather together, was a gift. Thank you Bronse from the bottom of our hearts for the past weekend - we are all talking about the next time we visit Bison Creek Ranch!

Little Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5
An amazing family vacation. A chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with the family and nature. The property is huge with lots of areas to explore. We picked wild berries, had fresh eggs, hiked, biked and more. The most amazing is the 9yr olds barely missed TV and electronics! Great hospitality, it felt like our home/ ranch for the week complete with our own sweet wolf pup! We can't wait to visit again.

Best Family Experience Ever!

  • 5 of 5
We had the most wonderful time on the ranch - better than we could have ever expected. Finding a fun vacation for teenagers that is also peaceful for us adults is a bit challenging, but this totally fit the bill. The cabin we were in was so comfortable and we had everything we needed - a great kitchen, comfortable beds and 2 lovable working ranch cats.

But what was totally amazing was the quiet beauty all around us. We enjoyed absolute freedom on the ranch to explore on the ATVs provided for us, and were thrilled to watch the buffalo(bison) graze right off our wrap around porch. There are horses, egg laying chickens, pigs and a gorgeous wolf/dog that we got to know as well.

We would love to go back next year!

Enlighten Life

Enlighten Your life
We wrote this review to capture someone seeking a real journey to something new. Maybe this journey is seeking you. If your seeking a reason for this...well.... "HERE YOU ARE" or " YOU MAY BE HERE".
We started exiting Los Angeles late afternoon and ended on a dirt road with a welcoming Rancher riding a 4 wheeler wondering if we were goig to ever Slow down! He asked what kind of vacation am i looking for and I said just the one in the sunset picture of this website. I could sense I was in for far more than my life journey thought it could handle. But with a little step of faith forward we all found that we have the desire to seek some place new where you can get to know what American Ranch living is like. We felt a narrow road begin to provide the sense we are in the right place a chance to sculpt a new picture in your mind and those around you. We can explain so little in words about life. My Families and friends experience at the Bison Ranch for Thanksgiving has shaped a outlook for each of us to grow and experience life as a journey. This Ranch brought a real life experience for my wife, two year old, four year old daughters, father, brother and friends. We learned how to Take a new appreciation for time and found a little idea can lead a long ways if your willing to work the gateway on the open county roads leading through the Ranch. Really got to Slow down! We soaked in place set in back in time a waterfall worth hiking too a welcoming Rancher willing to accept someone new. The property and enjoy the range of life and the unlimited opportunities venture around the Ranch by foot or OHV. I am living life with a new desire to seek new, this place truly found me and my family. I hope it finds many more.

The pressure of the world is instantly relieved as you enter the wagon wheel gate. From the rustic cabins to the wild life its a great opportunity to experience the west as it was before man arrived. Bronz and the others working the place were very kind and were always making sure everything was going well. There is some much to do on the ranch form hiking to the waterfall to just sitting on the porch, everyday can be an adventure for those seeking it. The views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. A truly great place to just escape.

excellent experience

This is a great place to visit if you want an active, engaging vacation. Lots of exploration to be had, visiting the creek, mining for gold, watching wildlife or relaxing in the cabin(s). Bronse accommodated a diverse group with ease. This is not a fancy or stuffy hotel setting - it is a rewarding vacation because you shape your own experience and have the freedom to explore.

From the Owner

The owner lives on the ranch in a cabin and is very knowledgeable about the history of the ranch and the natural environment. He has hand built the log cabin structures through hard work and true grit and seems to be John Wayne like in character. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic when teaching folks about the ranch's natural and native environment if they wish to do so. He can show you anything from how to track a wild animal to how to eat edibles off the land. On the ranch you feel like your in the 'land of the free' and American with ultimate 'freedom to do what you want' to say the least!
