Awh....the smell of a campfire in a lush alpine valley with distant scenic views of El Capitain and Yosemite Valley on a private ranch. Cruise around the ranch with your family and love ones on one of our new atv's and site see nature and all its splendor. We are not a cheezy hotel nor a motel or a bed and breakfast you can find elsewhere! Unlike most vacation rentals on this site, they have too much neighbor congestion, someone watching you and your family from every corner and the place looks like there will be no privacy on your vacation again with you and your family. Well not here, this is a working private 125 year old historic ranch nestled within a valley of its own directly West of Yosemite. Private fishing, swimming, atv riding, and there is nothing like tubing down a river on a sunny day with just your family.
Like 'Paul Bunyan' all structures on this iconic ranch are handcrafted from whole natural logs and raw timber resources off the ranch! This ranch is the perfect place to relax, fish, swim and peacefully unwind. One could even horseback ride down to a private springfed waterfall or river and prospect for gold! We offer our guests to 'get unplugged' and privately experience the ranch! Please see our reviews!
'Here on this scenic ranch you will feel like your in the middle of Montana but, amazed as I drove out of the main entrance gate and was only 5.5 miles/less than 15 minutes from fine dining, shopping, and museums!' - (Andrew Leon of Orange County)
Your more of an American while out on a private ranch, more free to do and become what you want, the life style Americans were originally intended to live. The owner is a self made pioneer in all senses of the word. Perhaps the last of his kind, the ranch has been privately owned since 1885 and since, purchased in 2000, the owner has brought the ranch once in ruins back to its original prime state. He has personally handcrafted real log cabins made off the land using raw lumber made from his sawmill, whole logs from dead standing timber, and natural granite rocks for massive fireplaces in each cabin.
“The ranch is in a unique micro climate that is rare in nature, the landscape is green through August then blooms into an array of yellow flowers within its meadows in the fall. There is more to see and learn here in nature than one would imagine with daily sights of deer, turkey, wild boar, black bears, and herd of bison.”
Here on the ranch we offer a one of a kind wonderful agri/tourism experience of our ranch operation which is comprised primarily with a herd of American Bison along with gold mining and prospecting adventures. We have many private gold mines where you and your family could learn how to prospect for gold, work a slush box, and panning equipment. The herd of American Bison roam freely thru out the ranch and we also offer daily tours on the history of our Great American Spirit, the American Bison!
You can also go:
tubing down the river,
hunting what's in season,
wildlife photography and viewing,
trap and clay pigeon shooting.

“The owner lives on the ranch in a cabin down by the river and is very knowledgeable about the history of the ranch and the natural environment. He has hand built the log barn and cabin structures and seems to be Paul Bunyeon/John Wayne like in character. He is very enthusiastic about the ranch and teaching folks about the nature and native environment if they wish to do so. He can show you anything from how to track a wild animal to how to eat edibles off the land. On the ranch you feel like your in the 'land of the free' and American with ultimate 'freedom to do what you want' to say the least!”
