Get away to historic northern Florida and plenty of sunshine, near the picturesque Suwannee River
and the Ichetucknee Springs. Spend the summer floating down the Ichetucknee or fishing in the
Suwannee River. Warm temperate climate makes this a retreat to come for the winter months to escape
the cold and snow. Cool evenings makes it nice to sit around the campfire and listen to nature.
The cottages are cozy and nestled among the oak trees. You are close enough, but have that far away
Cottage sleep four, with one bedroom/one bath, and a queen sleeper in the living room. A firepit,
picinic table and charcoal grill makes outdoor grilling just like home. Those who want to read a
book or take a nap, the front porch is screened in and you can enjoy the gentle breeze from the
Tubing, canoeing, kyaking and swimming at several of the springs, are within minutes of the cottage.
Boating and fishing at the Suwannee River is only nine miles away.(we do have parking space for
boats). Cave diving is a big adventure for the scuba divers in many of the springs.
For a day bike trip there is a biking path that runs from Branford to Fort White. Endless hiking
areas around the river and the state parks.
Many areas can be explored from the cottage with a day trip to either coastal areas, beaches, Disney
World, and Georgia. Closer trips could take you to Gainsville(28 miles) to the University of
Florida, our own Gators. Also in Gainsville is the NHRA Gatornationals(March). The Olustee Battle
Reenactment(Feb.)is only 25 miles away in the town of Olustee. With many concerts and other
entertaining activities, The Spirit of the Suwannee only about 25 miles away.
Lake City is only 12 miles away and has all your needs, hospitals, airport, hardware stores,
shopping mall, many resturants, bowling lanes, movie theater, and weekend fleamarket. Two golf
courses are located in Lake City, one in Live Oak(21 miles) and several in Gainsville(28 miles).
For the hunters, there is many hunting perserves within the area.
