Beautiful hacienda in the heart of East Downtown. This 1938 treasure has all the modern amenities with old-world character and charm. The eclectic neighborhood is highly desired for it's location, history and artisan culture and is surrounded by everything Austin -- music venues, local businesses, restaurants, coffee shops, hike and bike trails, plus Austin's amazing downtown and entertainment districts! E. 6th street's IBIZ district has brought many restaurants, pubs, and cafe's just 3 blocks from this urban retreat!

Walk to one of our favorite eateries all within 5 blocks: Eastside Showroom, Buenos Aires Cafe, Cenote, Texas Coffee Traders, tons of great food trailers. Within 12 blocks: Juan in a Million (Man vs Food), PF Changs, Moonshine, Ironworks BBQ, Eddie V's, Carmelo's, Melting Pot, Vince Young's Steakhouse, + many more.

Also in the neighborhood are coffee shops, art showrooms, bars, running and biking trails. We are 5 blocks from the Austin Convention Center, 1.3 miles from the State Capitol, and 1.5 miles to the University of Texas.

The main house has 3 spacious bedrooms arranged as follows:

Master: King Bed with private bathroom

Guest 1: Queen Bed

Guest 2: Queen Bed and crib

The sofa is available for sleeping and we can also provide additional air mattresses if requested.

There is also a backyard studio guesthouse that is available during SXSW in order to accommodate larger groups. This beautiful space features its own bath, a kitchen with fridge, stovetop, and sink, and a great porch for entertaining and relaxing. It can be furnished to suit your group's needs (i.e. 1-2 queen beds to sleep 2-4 people or open for extra bathroom/cooking/hangout space.) Please note: the price listed during SXSW is for use of the property for up to 10 guests. If you wish to use the property as an event or venue space, we would love to talk with you regarding pricing and details - please contact us to inquire.

For being so close to the activity of the city, this house is surprisingly quiet and spacious. The decor reminds me of interior Mexico and the amenities are modern and well equipped. The house was very clean and the fooseball table is a great distraction for game lovers with a cute backyard/patio for hanging out. I love to bike as a means of travel and the location could not be more perfect to get to all the local hot spots and main tourist locations. I'll be coming back in the future for sure.

i love the central hacienda

our sxsw interactive geek group has been staying at the central hacienda for 3 years now and we absolutely love it. dan is incredibly easy going, the house is always in tip top condition and the neighborhood is eclectic and full of fun. the house is close to downtown, very comfortable and a great place for anyone who wants to know what it is like to live in austin. i cant say enough nice things about this place and about dan.

Perfect Austin Rental

This house is spacious and the bedrooms are all large. Our family of 6 had plenty of room. It was nice to have ceiling fans throughout the house and there is central air for when it is hot. The kitchen is gorgeous and clean. We were able to shop locally and prepare meals with ease. The layout of the house is really nice.

I love the location of this rental home. We walked from the house into downtown and up to the Capitol building one night. I also loved using the bikes that the owner provided to explore Austin. There's a great coffee shop nearby called Progress. I highly recommend eating up the street from the trailers (chicken & waffles!). Lustre Pearl is a unique, fun spot for drinks and hanging out. Auditorium shores is beautiful. Our kids loved playing in the water fountains there that shoot up from the ground.

I received great customer service and hospitality from the owners. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

The Best of Austin

We've stayed at this property on numerous occasions and it's been a great find. The location is central, the property charming, and it's perfect for a large group. Much better than staying at a hotel, a great deal for the price, and the beds are very comfortable. We'll be back!
