We got sunburned in March, played 'sand trap' on the beach, played jack pot game, started a mud fight in the tidal canal. Jessie's shoe came off and she stepped on an oyster, needed four stiches in Southport. The doctor said "oyster wounds are notorous for infections" , but that did not happen. Went to Mexican restaurant after stiches and had a fun meal.
Oak Island is a quiet residential island predominently single family homes, no high rise hotels are allowed.
The marina for deep sea fishing is 2 miles west of the house, and a local fishing pier is about 2 miles East of the house, there are several good
seafood reastraunts and many causal restruaunts from BBQ, to pizza, to mexican in town. Oak Island GC is good course open to the public for Golf, and Carolina National 27 holes is only 15 minutes away now over the new OKI second bridge. There is also mini golf and tennis courts at the OKI community
center in town.
