House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 8 Sleeps

This charming house was designed to have the the "Old Beach Point Cottage" look with arched covered

farmer porches, and sun decks. This 3/4 acre lot is located in an open beach area with rolling hills

and houses spread far apart. It is contemporary with wood ceilings and beams. The private cleans , sandy bayside beach is

JUST across the quiet road and up the romantic dune path to the very moderate beach stairs. There is

no need to buy a town beach permit and pack up the car to fight to get a space as in other town

beaches because here you have your own private expansive beach. You will feel the spaciousness with

an open living plan of Kitchen/Dining/livingroom with comfortable couches. There are 4 spacious

bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen bed downstairs has a slider to the back covered porch .The other

3 bedrooms are on the second floor with one queen bedroom and the other two bedrooms have 2 twin

beds in them each. There is a central sitting room as well with a sprial stircase up to a roof deck .

We have rented through VRBO several times. This was by far the most disappointing rental we have ever had. The home is poorly maintained. The upstairs shower was unusable do to the fact it flooded the bathroom below. My husband had to pound in the multiple nails that were sticking up on the deck. The landscape is grossly overgrown which is not shown in the picture, and there was poision ivy growing up through the deck. The carpet and furnishings were nearly worn out. I spilled a few drops of coffee on the spiral staircase and when I wiped it up, it was clear the stairs had not been cleaned in years. Overall you will do much better renting elsewhere for your dollar.

Owner's Response: I have been renting this wonderful house for 15 years and this is the first negative review I have received , It is funny to me that these people who complain are the people who left the house one of the dirtiest and with the least regard . I had put an x next to her name that I should remember that they should not be allowed to return . If she had a problem with water she should have called me and I would have sent a plumber over, The tub/shower does not overflow unless someone lets it .
We are not suburbia on Cape Cod so we don't have manicured lawns and gardens on lower Cape . There was not poison ivy growing through the deck but it was a wild raspberry . The house was clean and comfortable and spacious . This being my first negative review in 15th years is unwarranted and not qualified to count or be seen especially if you could have seen how badly they left the house .

The Knowles Hts. Beach House is one of my favorites! Janet is a wonderful hostess. She has the house stocked with just about everything you could possibly need. She was very easy to get a hold of too. I never had a question go unanswered. I called to let her know we ran out of propane and she was there in 10 minutes flat with a new tank. I have been vacationing to the Cape yearly with my family for 30 years now and I must say this cottage, paired with its location is just perfect! Its away from it all, yet close enough to many possibilities for activities. Bring your bike! There are so many beautiful hiking and biking trails nearby.
We went to tour Truro Vineyards and tasted 10 different wines-all of which were delightful. We also visited the farmers market and talked to the friendly locals. You can also travel just a few miles down the street to pick up some fresh catch for dinner or relax and enjoy one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Historic Provincetown is a quick 10 minute drive. We went early and managed to get a great parking spot on the pier and walk around town for some shopping, climb the Pilgrim Monument which at the base of the Pilgrim Monument, features a Museum which houses a unique collection of exhibits that depict important events, people in Provincetown history and our nation’s history. I got some great pictures and my kids enjoyed learning the history of The Mayflower, the Pilgrims & their first settlement in Provincetown which happens to be left out of many textbooks.
After our climb we were feeling a bit tired and hungry so we headed to Pepe's Wharf located on Commercial Street for some waterfront dining. The food was a little bit pricey but well worth it as I have never had such delicious seafood anywhere else! We return every year and never do we leave disappointed!
After our meal we headed back to our car and drove to the Province Lands Visitor Center which sits atop a dune off Race Point Road and offers a spectacular 360-degree view from both indoor and outdoor observation decks where you can see the surrounding landscapes, shorelines, and lighthouses. They also have a very nice gift shop where my kids bought souvenirs (the proceeds go to the FRIENDS of the Cape Cod National Seashore fund).
At the end of the week, we had a campfire on the beach where we all roasted marshmallows with another family whom we met during our stay. What a perfect end to a fantastic vacation!
