Oceanfront second floor non-smoking point unit 3 BR condo in Georgetowne House at Sea Colony East, a private, gated Community. When you go to the beach shouldn't you stay where your view is only sand, water, and sky? Point units face directly East and are closest to the ocean, so no other buildings are in view. Georgetowne does not have a oceanside pool, so your view through the floor to ceiling living room window wall, or from the king pillowtop in the master, is just the dunes, water, and sky.

Our condo has 3 bedrooms and two baths, and is fully carpeted with a light colored berber (new carpet and sectional sofa for the 2013 season), the kitchen and bathrooms are linoleum and tile. The master bedroom and living room directly face east at the ocean and each have heavy white light blocking floor to ceiling drapes to control the intense morning sun. The kitchen has had the living room wall removed and the unique L shaped bar now connects the kitchen to the living room with ocean vistas beyond. Both bathrooms feature white Dupont Corian sinks, a white Kohler Sterling shower in the hall and a white 32" Sterling soaker tub with shower for the master bath, new delta mixers in both showers, a new water heater, and new outdoor unit for the AC. The Bryant HVAC is variable speed, humidity controlled, and has a programmable thermostat.

New for 2013 the living room entertainment center has a new 46 inch Samsung Smart TV and DVD player. The Mediacom cable TV tuner, the cable modem, and the wireless router (with a 25ft ethernet cable for those non WIFI laptops) are in there too. All TVs are on cable, the mediacom cable tuner box will tune a few HD stations. Also, new for 2013 all 3 bedrooms have new 32 inch Samsung Smart Tv's with DVD players. There is one oceanside balcony accessed from the living room through the sliding door. The balcony runs the width of the living room and is about 5 feet wide, resin chairs and tables are provided.

The kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, and glass top electric range are arctic white and clean like new, and the custom L shaped bar has stools for four and the kitchen has tableware for 12. Ample cookware is provided, with coffee makers, blenders, 4 slice toaster, a large microwave oven and a wireless phone with answering machine.

The master has one pillowtop king size bed, the Den has one firm Queen size bed (and custom twin magnetic latching doors), the second bedroom has two twin beds. All bedrooms have large double bifold door closets with a shelf and an overhead light, all bedrooms also have ceiling fans and clock radios.

The pool and the dune crossing to the Beach are on the first floor, one flight down by stairs or elevator, and may also be accessed from the ground floor garage. One of the six outdoor pools (with clean restrooms and outdoor showers) and the packed clay ramp dune crossing to the wide private beach are one flight down the stairs around the corner, not even a two minute dash from the room. The elevator tower is 50ft the other way, and the elevators were new for the 2009 season. The trash room chute is a few steps beyond the elevators. The reserved parking place is in the shaded garage a few steps from the oceanside Lobby entrance.

Access to our unit is easy, there are no steps. At the parking lot the curbs are cut, the Lobby has an electric gliding door, and the elevator tower is just a few steps around the corner from our door.

Sea Colony is located just south of Bethany Beach, Delaware. 5 miles to the South is sleepy Fenwick Island and over the Mason Dixon Line is bustling Ocean City, Maryland. The Indian River Inlet is 5 miles to the North and it hosts the Coast Guard Station with a harbor and charter fishing. 10 miles to the North is Dewey Beach and just beyond is Rehoboth Beach, home of tax free outlet shopping, a few wonderful water parks and many amazing restaurants. Historic Lewes, Delaware is 10 minutes North of Rehoboth, with a large harbor of private and charter fishing boats, the famous Cape May to Lewes Ferry (passengers and autos), and a wonderful walking downtown. There are several excellent golf courses within a 10 minute drive. The Assawoman Wildlife Preserve is a few minutes away, with miles of hiking trails and old growth forest.

  • Our Summer Weekly Rental rate varies from $1,250 to $2,850 depending on the week of the season. One cleaning on the Saturday of your arrival is included as well as linen service which includes white bed and bath linen for six. Not included in the rent are the Amenity Badges payable to the Recreation Department, the badge fee varies by week.

    Mid September through May, a nightly rate of $250.00 with a three night minimum stay is also available.
    A recreation fee will also be required for each person four years of age or older. The Renter will pay this amenity fee directly to the Recreation Office across the street and will receive id badges for each person and the required parking pass.

Notes:

  • If you play tennis you can play every day for 4 weeks and never play the same court twice. According to Tennis Magazine, Sea Colony is one of the top Tennis Resorts in the US. There are 34 tennis courts, 12 are Har-Tru and 4 courts are indoor. There are 12 pools, two indoor Fitness Centers with gyms with weights and cardio gear, pools, Hot tubs, saunas, even an indoor basketball court. All the pools and the beach have lifeguards, the Sea Colony Lifeguards regularly kick butt in National skills competitions. The half mile beach is private and was replenished (sand pumped up) winter '08. Adult beverages are permitted on the beach but glass is not. Parking can be tight on the Oceanfront, there are many Bike and walking paths and a tram service. There are specialty shops on the property just a few steps away from the Lobby for morning coffee, newspapers, milk, eggs, snacks, suntan oil and the like. Off the property and a few minutes walk is a pharmacy, a hotel, and an excellent crab shack named Mickey's. It is a 10 minute walk north up the beach to the very family oriented Boardwalk in Bethany Beach.
