I had an amazing experience. The apartment was clean and nice. The location was awesome! Only 2 min walk from my favorite place, Grove. Can't wait to go back to LA in July and I am sure I will book this apartment again!

Good place but with some caveats

I made the reservation for the Hollywood Delux II months before our arrival date. The purpose of our stay was a relaxing bachelorette weekend. One week before our stay I received an email saying that due to management issues, we were being "upgraded" to another condo complex a few blocks away from the original complex. I immediately tried to check if the amenities matched the original complex and was disappointed to find that the new building had no rooftop pool and jacuzzi, which was the main reason we chose the vacation rental in the first place. Also I was told that the neighborhood was better than that of the original complex, but a simple drive-by showed differently. However, the location was still convenient to meet our needs, being close to the Sunset Strip and Beverly Hills, so I kept the changed reservation. Also, we would have lost money if we had canceled it. When we arrived we discovered that one of the fobs for the building (to use the elevator) was broken. Also the jacuzzi at the complex (ground level, in the courtyard) was out of service. We were able to use the "sun deck" at the neighboring complex which has a tiny jacuzzi, but there was very limited seating and two of the girls had to lay on the hot red cement. The condo itself was clearly newly remodeled, but the beds and furniture had been brought over from the original complex. The fold-out sofa bed has a very uncomfortable mattress. Beware! The two queen beds were fine. The bathrooms were nice but had only 2-3 towels between them! For 6 girls this was unacceptable. Luckily we had brought some towels ourselves. There was no can opener and some of the parts in the complex (toilet paper dispenser, soap dispenser, kitchen paper towel dispenser) were strangely industrial, like at a public school.
Having said that, we were still able to have a fun weekend, going out to Boulevard 3 for a night of dancing on the Sunset strip, shopping on Melrose, and a little trip to Beauty Bar LA for some pampering. We also went to a tiny Thai restaurant called Joom, which has no corkage fee if you bring your own wine! Great deal. The location was definitely convenient but the property itself could use some better finishing touches (and towels!). I would recommend this place to a friend as long as they are given a clear picture of what to expect!
