A little Piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5
I rented this property in May of this year for a week and then I just rented it for a second week this year because I couldn't wait to get back. I decided on a non-traditional Christmas this year so I couldn't think of a better place to spend it than on the beaches of Malibu. This property is perfect in every way. The energy you receive from being right on the water is very refreshing to the soul. It is a gift to have the privilege to stay here as it is perfect in every way. The apartment has everything you could need and more. The tenants that live in the other units are nice and welcoming...and the view...I can't say enough about it. If I could uplift my city life in Chicago and move anywhere, it would be to this little slice of heaven in Malibu. I am so appreciative Liza and David rent this out and share it with others to experience. I can't wait to get back. As long as they rent it, I will make it a place to visit as long as I can. The surrounding area has great shops and restaurants and a grocery store so you can cook at home if you want to stay in and not go out to eat. I opted for a little of both but I prefer just staying at this cozy apartment...when you are there it is fleeting as all good things come to an end. I had a couple of friends that live in the LA area and friends that go to California for vacations so they stopped by for a visit and were blown away...they can't wait to rent the place!

Perfect stay!

We had the perfect stay at this cosy place. It was really a home away from home (with better view). We saw lots of dolfins and seals and spent hours on the balcony every day. The place is good maintained, everything is working well. Linens and towels are very clean and in a good condition (very important for me, to feel good). Nice shops and restaurants are close by. We will come back, for sure.

We had arrived for the last part of our adventure from our round trip from L.A. to Vegas, Hoover Dam,Grand Canyon, 6 Flags and back to L.A. so after much travelling we were in need of some 'down-time'. This apartment had it all. Sometimes when you arrive at a location, the reality isn't quite like the photos. On this occasion we were taken aback at how perfect it was! The owners had even made sure we had all the instructions on where everything was and how things worked. It was such a relaxing experience, with a view which was just breath-taking and one which i could never tire of. Our kids also, (for the first time) engaged in a game of Scrabble, which is pretty amazing considering they're usually glued to their tablets, phones etc!
Once again, thanks for such a wonderful apartment with the perfect location. We would love to come back sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Wonderful get away

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I needed a get away, and this property was perfect for the two of us. He was able to set up his office (laptop and internet is all he needs) over looking the beach. I had a wonderful time sitting on the beach reading books. The apartment is comfortably furnished and cute. The grocery store is close by and that and the proximity of Malibu Seafood made fixing meals in a snap. The apartment complex has other renters, and for the most part they were friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who just wants the chance to sit on the beach and let the waves perform their relaxing magic.

The owners were wonderful and made the renting easy. The welcoming flowers and bottle of wine were much appreciated.

Heaven on earth

We (that means Dad, Mom and a teenager of 15 years visiting from Switzerland) spent almost 2 weeks here in Malibu and it was just great. The moment we stepped into this home we felt great. It was home away from home. Even better because at home we don't hear the Pacific Ocean and don't have a view to it and we also miss the walks on the beach. We saw dolphins a couple of time (we now know that this is not very special event for locals :-) but for us it was. And one day we even saw a whale, what an experience.
The flowers and the very nice bottle of wine just made us feel welcome even more. This place is very well kept and so nicely furnished. What we also appreciated that there was enough kitchenware, so cooking our own meals was no problems. Also to mention is that the home was very well cleaned upon our arrival. I think that is very important.
We felt very sorry to have to leave and dearly hope to come back and I am pretty sure we will. We have lost our heart to a place in Florida and now we have a place in California that we have to come back too, because a piece of our heart was left here too.
We really want to thank the owners to have let us stay at their home.
The location is great and we explored Los Angeles and went up to Santa Barbara and one day even to Pismo Beach for an ATV experience.

So, fact is we can recommend this home to anyone who is thinking of coming here.
Greetings from Switzerland
Ursula, Joerg and Jason

I'm so sorry not to have written my review sooner. I've rented quite a number of rental homes, San Diego, Huntington Beach, and Laguna Beach in California, Miami Beach in Florida, and Soundview Beach and Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme, CT. Although this year, we'll be staying on the East Coast and going to Myrtle Beach, SC (are you seeing a theme here?), I plan on coming back to THIS rental in 2014. A nice touch were the vases of flowers left for my arrival. For the first four days I just relaxed and stayed on the balcony except for a trip to Ralph's for groceries and dinner with a friend in LA. It was late October, warm enough on the balcony to sit and read but cool enough at night to light the fireplace. As the sun began to dip in the late afternoons, I would pour a glass of wine and watch the sun set, listening to the waves crash below me. If this unit were any closer to the water during high tide, it would be IN the water. I would actually have to stand at the railing and look down to see the edge of the water. I saw dolphins throughout the day almost every day and even saw a seal close to shore once. My cousin joined me on Thursday for the duration of my vacation and I was finally ready to go out and explore the surrounding area. I have no idea whether the bed was comfortable or not (although my cousin tells me it was) because I slept every night on the bed in the Ocean Alcove, waking up every morning to the sight of the ocean. This was relaxation at its finest. I did choose to leave my husband home for this vacation because he's one who likes to always be on the go when we vacation and I really wanted this vacation to just relax, read, and de-stress. As I've mentioned, I've rented beach homes many times and they've been nice but this is the first time I've wanted to return to the same place. There's simply nothing to complain about. The only thing I would mention is that while I was there, I was inundated with little ants. This is not a reflection on the unit (or my cleanliness) however. This is something that occurs many times in beach homes. I'm only mentioning it here in case this occurs with someone else. Spray them with Windex and the ammonia kills them immediately. I've had them with other beach rentals as well. I can't wait to return and only wish I had more vacation time this year so I wouldn't have to wait until 2014.
