This is a non-smoking unit.

Pets welcome - The beach is pet friendly!

The townhouse is known as "The Beach Bungalow" and is part of the Cape Villa Town homes and is in a family oriented area. It is located on the beach. It sleeps 6 people. It has been completely updated and refurbished recently. The Beach Bungalow is a 2-bedroom 2-1/2-bath home. Our area is reminiscent of 'Old Florida.' There are no tall condos or hotels anywhere near by! Our beaches are very quiet and peaceful, and in the off-season, in particular, you will rarely encounter anyone as you stroll quietly along the beach. With only 12 units and the only multi-unit homes in the area you will find the beach secluded and private compared to Barrier Dunes with 190 units (only 15 with Gulf view) or Barefoot Cottages which are not on the beach at all.

The second floor's master bedroom has a furnished screened deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. It has a king-size bed and private full bath. There is a TV with a DVD / CD player in the master bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds, a private full bath, a furnished screened deck and a TV with a VCR player. There are 2 twin aero raised beds.

Linens are furnished

The bedrooms, hallway and stairs have new wall-to-wall carpet.

The living area has a leather couch with recliners built in, along with a reclining wing chair. The TV has a DVD / CD player. The dining area seats 6. The kitchen has all new appliances and kitchen utensils.

There is also a washer and dryer in the unit. There is also a laundry chute from second floor.

The first floor has a half bath.

We welcome pets. No family should have to leave their pet at home while on vacation. The beach is pet friendly!

Exiting from the living area is a screened deck with a gas grill and patio table and chairs. Out the back door and you are no more than 20 feet from the pool and 50 steps from the beach. There is a gazebo by the pool and a boardwalk to the beach. There is an outdoor shower.

Bonfires are permitted (check with county first incase there is a fire ban) on the beach for a cozy campfire. From long walks on the secluded beach, shelling, exploring the beaches, fishing, playing or swimming in either the pool or Gulf of Mexico it or just relaxing on the beach with a good book. There is also plenty of parking right in front of the Beach Bungalow. Bringing the groceries and suitcases from the car to the house is a breeze.

Cape Villas has many activities to choose from within a 30-minute drive. Nested between Port St Joe and Apalachicola, there are many restaurants, activities, and shopping. There are also places nearby that rent boats and personal watercraft (Jet-Skis). There is parasailing, golf, site seeing.

If you enjoy nature there are many state parks to choose from. St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge, in Franklin County, Florida, is an undeveloped barrier island just offshore from the mouth of the Apalachicola River, in the Gulf of Mexico. The refuge is managed to preserve, in as natural a state as possible, its highly varied plant and animal communities. St Vincent has a large variety of exotic and endangered wildlife. Ten separate habitat types have been identified: tidal marsh; freshwater lakes and streams; dunes dominated by live oak/mixed hardwood understory; scrub oaks; relatively pure stands of cabbage palm; and four different slash pine communities, each with its own unique understory species. St. Vincent is an important stop-off point in the Gulf of Mexico region for neo-tropical migratory birds. The island is a haven for endangered and threatened species, including bald eagles, sea turtles, indigo snakes, and gopher tortoises. Wood storks use the refuge during their migration. In addition, the refuge serves as a breeding area for endangered red wolves. You can get there by boat or ferry. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park with miles of white sugar sand, this park has one of the top rated beaches in the United States.

Sunbathing, snorkeling, and swimming are popular activities along the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joseph Bay. From offshore, canoeists and kayakers can take in a superb view of the high dunes and sand pine scrub. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, and bicycling. As a coastal barrier peninsula, St. Joseph provides excellent opportunities for bird watching; over 240 species have been sighted in the park. A boat ramp is located at Eagle Harbor on the bay side.

We will see to it that you have a wonderful time here at Beach Bungalow. We will do everything in our power to accommodate

An ideal combination- a well-furnished condo right on the beach; with a small, well-kept pool; and a bayou just steps away, full of crabs and shrimp. The area was uncrowded but friendly, with fresh seafood just minutes away. We plan to return to this bungalow, hopefully for longer next year.

Comfortable place in a good location

  • 4 of 5
Townhouse is right on the beach facing the Gulf. It provides comfortable beds and seating. We liked eating our meals on the upstairs screened-in porch with a beautiful view. The only downside to the view was the Money Bayou which had changed course in the last storm. It now runs directly in front of the townhouse with red clay colored water.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Triple Tails restaurant... be sure to try the Triple Tail fish. We fished from the Fishin' Xpress out of Port St. joe. This was the only boat which allowed fishing for Red Snapper this year. Went horseback riding on the beach with Rockin M Ranch.

We loved walking on the beach morning and evening with our two dogs. Thank you Mary for allowing us to bring this part of our family!

Owner's Response: I am so happy you had an enjoyable stay! I too feel that our pets are part of our family. Yes, we did have record rainfall which would effect the Money Bayou. When it flows like that it is usually good for crabbing (nets and string provided) and fishing. If you return to the area, please keep us in mind.
Thanks,
Mary

Just what we wanted

Can't say enough about what a wonderful set-up this vacation rental offers. Ideal location steps from the beach and pool. Furnished with more things that we would have imagined. With chairs and umbrellas and cooler and boogie boards, we were ready for the water! The views from the master bedroom were spectacular. Hope to vacation there again next year.

Fantastic Time! Lovely place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5
We were looking for a place at the beach that would allow our dog to join us. We could not have found a better location. Mary, the owner, was fabulous to work with. She's very personable and very interested in making sure each of her guests have what they need to have a great time. Our kids loved the bayou that is next to the property. Had a blast crabbing!! The beach was beautiful! I think my favorite part of the bungalow was the screen porches. It allowed us to enjoy all of the rooms AND the nice breeze off the gulf without the nasty biting bugs. Charming!

What a perfect escape!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I (and our dog) spent Christmas week at this lovely location. Not only did we find the property to be perfectly suited for visitors, the outdoor areas were exceptional. This lovely rental is right on the Gulf. We took one of our dogs and she loved the dog friendly beach (and stores) and the grassy areas around the home. Although we had neighbors we never heard a sound. One night there were significant winds and we were weather tight. On Christmas morning we were greeted by an American Bald Eagle sitting on a piece of driftwood right in front of us. What a beautiful sight! If you are looking for a place to relax, read, enjoy the beach, take long walks without tons of people around --- this is your spot. There are many environmental areas and wildlife refuges in their area with great hiking and biking paths. Inside there were books, games, jigsaw puzzles, books, a well equipped kitchen, everything you need including a tv and dvd player in each bedroom and one in the living room. You will not believe how perfect this location is. We loved the screened in porch on the first floor but the screened in master bedroom balcony was a real treat and the view was a feast for the senses. We spent lots of time watching the birds, dolphins, and the ever changing seascape with spectacular sunsets! We truly enjoyed our week and the owner was terrific. We are already checking our calendars for a return visit. Many thanks to Mary for sharing this wonderful pet-friendly home with us. It is everything the description says it is and much more!

Loved our stay in Port St. Joe

  • 5 of 5
The property was just as described. Very nice layout and very clean....right on the water. Our dog loved it also. The owner was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond. We had no cell service during our stay ... not sure if that means all carriers but Sprint definitely has no service there, however the owner provided free wi-fi and long distance. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends and plan on visiting again.
