Charming Cabin

  • 5 of 5
My husband and our friends rented this cabin Labor Day Weekend 2010. We absolutely loved everything about it. It's adorable with the stone entrance, we felt as if we had stepped into a fairytale and Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs were going to come marching out It has many cute little features inside which are the results of their recent remodel from what we were told. Everything was well stocked, and everything worked. We had no problems with this cabin, the only thing missing was more chairs on the deck (there are only two) so everyone can enjoy the beautiful serene mornings and gorgeous starry evenings. Other then that little thing, it was as perfect as perfect can get. We've already reserved other dates over Christmas Weekend and we can't wait to see the cabin when there is snow on the ground! Thank you Gregory Family for an amazing place to stay in Shaver Lake.
Just a warning which I had no idea...Shaver Lake is freezing cold year around, I would recommend renting a slip at the Sierra Marina if you are going to go boating. The town of Shaver is small and there is not that much to choose from as far as dining. We ate out twice once at the Trading Post for dinner and once at Angelos's for breakfast. The Trading Post has okay food, good service but they're pricey. Angelos had a good breakfast, at reasonable prices but had terrible (and I mean terrible) service. The only redeeming thing about Angelos was their Chunky Bread and Oh MY GOD it was to die for! Next time we are in the town of Shaver we are going to just go ahead and cook all our meals at the cabin..and maybe grab a pizza if we are too tired to cook after being on the lake all day.

We had a great relaxing time staying in the house. Just what we needed after 7 days in Yosemite !!
What a beautiful house,so clean, all the modern appliances with the feel of a rustic cabin ! Warm & cozy. Beautiful glass doors, wood floors, granite counter top, just beautiful!
BBQ on the back stone patio with two Adirondack chairs is perfect.
Shaver Lake is right down the road if your into boating, fishing, swimming,or just bring lunch and sitting on the sandy beach. It's a beautiful spot! They rent everything.
The little town has restaurants and food markets.
I would stay here again and im from long island !!!!!

Activity and Interests

The cabin is located in a private subdivision right in town. Not only can you walk to all the shops, restaurants and the lake, but the subdivision has some great hiking too. Hike to Sunset Rock with your glass of wine and watch the sunset. Take the kids to Indian Rock (Where the Indians actually carved into the rock) and hike down to the creek.
