Some of the pictures were professionally taken by a real estate photographer who used a wide angle lens to make more of each room visible. This causes the rooms to appear larger. This effect is evident in the picture of the twin bedroom where you can see 3 ceiling corners of the rectangular room.
Our parents bought the property and built the original house in 1954 on the north side of the road. They then built a duplex up on the dune and after that expanded the main house. We were not full-time residents, we were summer people and used to rent the duplex and upstairs of the main house. We spent our summers here on the beach with swimming, crabbing and bonfires with neighbors. One of my sisters and I are the only ones who live in East Hampton year round.
“Our parents used to camp at Hither Hills State Park when you would pitch a tent for the summer. They ad their friends decided to buy and looked for someplace suitable when they ran across Sammy's Beach. few of them got together and bought property on Sammy's Beach @1953, there was a dirt road and no electric then, we drove our own wells. This house was supposed to be our parents' retirement house, it was built @1972 and 3 of us have inherited the house.”
