All expectations surpassed!

  • 5 of 5
I shopped long and careful for our 10 adult skiers group's stay for the Hartford Ski Spectacular at Breckenridge. When I found the Cold Water Creek Lodge and read all the "Wows" and glowing reviews from families and groups who had stayed there, my expectations were high.

Cold Water Creek Lodge met every expectation...and is perfect! It is "rustic, meet elegance." Yes the Lodge is elegant, it is also comfortable and feels like home. After wonderful long days at Spectacular clinics, we ate family style at the big table together. Then continued the evening in the family room watching Warren Miller movies and playing games or soaking in the hot tubs.

The designated cooks in our group prepared our evening meals in the Lodge kitchen. Which was like cooking in a gourmet's kitchen...everything we needed was there. Two ovens, two dishwashers and two refrigerator/freezers! And every appliance and utensil you might need.

The view from any and every window was fabulous. The boot & glove warmer and all the cubbies was oh-so-appreciated when up to 10 of us left in the morning to ski.

O.k., everyone loved the lodge. But the outdoors was just as wonderful! The McCullough Gulch Trail starts right out the front door. I took Lucy, my "Tramp" look alike for morning and afternoon walks...and even a full moon walk. We left a couple of snow angels next to the trail.

We arrived at the Cold Water Creek Lodge as a group of friends, and left as family. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We are already planning for next year's Spectacular.

Beautiful lodge, great location, stunning views!

  • 5 of 5
We had such a nice time staying here with our beloved dog who, by the way, has discovered that 6.5 inches of snow is tons of fun! The lodge is absolutely beautiful, very spacious and well located with stunning mountain and river views (the river is right off the back deck). There are lovely hikes just out the front door and lots of beautiful day drives to explore. There are plenty of things to do even if you are traveling with your dog.

I have to mention the kitchen, awesome! It is very well equipped and the pantry is stocked with all of the basics.

The rich family history behind the creation of this lodge is very nice, too, thanks for sharing, Ronchetti Family.

Highly recommended!

Great Place

  • 5 of 5
We had a family reunion of sorts with 15 people staying at the house and skiing. 4 familes with 8 adults and seven kids. Everything was great. We enjoyed being far enough outside Breckenridge to enjoy the quiet and close enough to get the slopes in a jiffy. The rooms for the adults are in a different part of the house so the kids could play and be loud without disturbing the rest of the group. There six bathrooms and we used them and never ran out of hot water. The owners were nice, responsive, and helpful. The medallions were great for skiing (a considerable extra with lift tickets costing $130).

Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5
We decided to take our parents to Colorado for their 50th wedding anniversary. Their 4 grown kids, 4 grand kids, 1 great grand kid, and their beloved dog. After a lot of looking we chose this beautiful lodge. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this house... It exceeded our expectations! First and foremost it is immaculate and well appointed. Starting with the entry there is certainly enough space to store all of everyone's gear. A large mud/coat room off the garage houses a boot/ glove warmer , hooks for coats and lots of cubbies. Enter into the main part of the house- spectacular! Kitchen so large and has EVERYTHING we needed. Large family room with fireplace and comfortable leather furniture. We really liked the master bed and bath right on the main floor for our parents so they didn't have to climb steps. All other bedrooms with their own bath were superb... Plenty of room in the huge showers (with rock floors that made you feel as though you were in a spa. The kids had their own "wing" of the house with bunk beds, bath and game room. We loved the hot tub in the evening with the snow falling. It is just a beautiful place. Beautiful views and quiet setting away from town.
Thank you so much to the owners for sharing your home with our family to make a memorable vacation.

Ten of us went on a ski trip to Colorado. We stayed at Cold Water Creek Lodge for a week and it was just awesome! The lodge is situated about 15 min away from Breckenridge ski resort. We skied at Breck, Keystone, Vail and Beaver Creek during our stay.

The place was exactly what we expected and more. We enjoyed the hot tub almost everyday after skiing. We had a problem with a garage door and Mark, the owner responded right away.

All of us had a great time.
Thank you Mark and Kristy. We'll be back!

In the gameroom section of the bunkhouse there is a LCD TV, Nintendo Wii, air hockey table and DVD player, as well as a queen fold out sectional couch. There is also a separate bathroom. *The greatroom features a floor to ceiling fireplace and windows with stunning views of Quandary Peak, the highest point in Summit county. The fireplace also has a 48" Sony LCD TV mounted inside it. *The kitchen looks directly out over the Blue River and Red Mountain. It has granite slab counter tops, GE Monogram appliances (including 2 dishwashers, gas cook-top and double oven) and a natural stone wrapped bar. *There is a place for adults to escape to as well. The adult cardroom is just off the greatroom. It has a poker table, flat screen tv, fold out queen couch and separate bathroom. *In the mudroom there are boot warmers to make sure your next day of skiing or boarding is done with dry boots. *On the front deck you can enjoy stunning views of Quandary Peak while sitting in the 8 person hot tub. *Next to the hot tub is a natural gas fire pit. It's the perfect spot for stargazing on clear summer nights. *The Lodge is located in McCullough Gulch Reserve. We are the only house in the reserve guaranteeing you the ultimate in privacy while just five minutes from the bustle of Breckenridge. *The Lodge is five miles south of Breckenridge along flat well plowed roads. Our location south of Breckenridge will allow easy access in and out of town without waiting in ski traffic. This is the perfect summer hike, winter snowshoe trip or cross country ski expedition. *In the fall our rates go down but the views just get better. The huge aspen grove in front of the house provides stunning falls colors. Fall is one of our prettiest times of year. *We have small kids so if you have little ones we have you covered. We have a large pack and play, a high chair and a single stroller. Nothing fancy but enough to get you by. *Located on a private paved road allowing kids or pets to run free.
