Fantastic!

Great house for a weekend get away! Right next to a restaurant for dinner so no one has to drive. The owner was super easy to work with and very diligent about getting back to me if I had question. Very friendly overall. House was clean upon arrival and checkout was a breeze. Would stay there again.

Loved the place and our stay!

  • 5 of 5
We had a large extended family get together with ages 0-80; everyone had a great time. The house is very homey and full of character. I think we used every bed and room available and we were quite comfortable. We plan to stay again next year. The location is perfect for all the activities that we had planned in New Braunfels. The owner - Jonathon - was very easy to work with and met all our needs.

Thanks again!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for staying with us, and we look forward to hosting you again soon. We're proud that the house is so close to all the amenities and attractions of New Braunfels, both big and small, and even happier when people enjoy themselves as much as you did in our home.

Look elsewhere!

This was a horrible excuse for a rental property. Not only was this property dirtier than a frat house with mold in the refrigerator, debris in the oven, and an overwhelming stench of cat urine- but the owner has refused to refund the security deposit or the cleaning fee that he agreed he would wave due to the condition of the unit.
After waiting the two weeks for a refund on the damage deposit as outlined int he security agreement, Jonathon came up with a story of damage done to the rental unit. He has never provided any pictures of said damage and refuses to refund the deposit and cleaning fee. Please do not waste your hard earned dollars on this dump!

Great space for a big group.

  • 4 of 5
The owner was very friendly and easy to work with. We had 20 people in our group and we were not cramped at all. It says sleeps 24 but I think it could sleep so much more. It was that spacious. The bathrooms were wonderful and up to date. The house was kept very clean. The A/C worked great, actually got a lil cold in my room. The downstairs kitchen was a lil outdated but everything worked fine. The upstairs kitchen seemed more up to date. The view from the patio was spectacular of the river. But be prepared to get your exercise, you have to go down 5 stairs to get to the river. But don't worry after every set of stairs there is a landing area where you could rest. Had a great time, would go again.

Huge home, great location!

First off, the location and other listing details are completely accurate. The home is very large with a lot of beds throughout. It's a very unique layout that almost seems put together piecemeal or as though it once used to be multiple units that were joined together, but it's a great place for a large group. There are plenty of beds and a great place for large groups to gather to hang out, not to mention all of the outdoor space for relaxing.

The place is a little older, so it's not really up to date in terms of kitchen appliances or fixtures, the beds aren't the best beds ever, but we had no issues sleeping on them for sure. The temperature while we were there stayed in the mid to high 80s and we never felt too hot or too cool while in the home. I didn't try all of the showers, but the one I did try was fantastic - warm water and a really powerful stream to wash the river off.

The property was very clean and maintained, and Jonathan was very easy to work with. Everything was just simple and truly a pleasure. It made this leg of our trip very pleasant.

While we stayed here, which was for two nights, we went out to eat in Gruene at The Gristmill and we went dancing at Gruene Hall. The next morning we walked to Schobel's for breakfast which was right around the corner. They had a buffet that was fine, the service was slow, but it did the trick. We floated the Guadalupe one afternoon. We ran up the road to Buc-ee's just to check it out because it's massive. We grabbed some beer and ice there and headed to Rockin' R in Gruene where we rented tubes and coolers. We spent the day on the river then we went to Rudy's for BBQ. After cleaning up at the house, we went back to Gruene Hall for some more dancing. The next morning we grabbed Shipley's Donuts before heading down to San Antonio.

Not far from the house at all there is a Whataburger, Walmart, Big Lots and several other retailers/restaurants. You're really in the heart of everything.

Overall, the stay was excellent and I'd definitely recommend this home to friends and family!

For our first family vacation we couldn't have been at a better property. Th house was very well kept, clean and up to date, not to mention very spacious. The customer service was great and from as family of atleast 20 people there were no complaints. We are already planning our next trip and this vacation home is in them. Enjoy!!!!
