Awesome vacation

  • 5 of 5
We had an awesome time. Plenty of room for all 12 of us! It was clean, well equipped with kitchen, bedroom and bathroom amenities! The lake was clean and we took advantage of the rowboat and kayaks! Fishing was fun...the guys drove their boats a short distance and hopped onto the chain. We spent a day shopping in Eagle River which was very close. We will return!

Awesome Place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
Can't say enough about this little hideaway! We have stayed at quite a few cabins in the Eagle River area over the years, and this place was by far the best! Quiet, relaxing, alot to do, good fishing, and a very organized, clean cabin. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to go with a large family! We were invited along with my daughter's in-laws and would definitely come back again! Only thing we needed was a larger pier because everyone enjoyed fishing there!

Relaxation in the Northwoods

  • 5 of 5
I booked this big house for my extended family and we had plenty of room for everybody. We had a few chilly days where we spent more time in the house and there was room enough for the adults, grown children and teenagers to all have their own space.

I liked the idea of WiFi to be able to peek in on work, but after the first day, I never looked in again. Between taking the boats on the lake, walking in the woods with the dogs and trips into town to explore the many flea markets and antique shops in the area -- there was enough to do to keep my mind off of work the entire week. Early in the morning I saw deer wandering in the yard by the lake and even a family of 5 wild turkeys.

The house was perfectly clean when we arrived and everything was well stocked with dishes, towels, games and more. All we had to do was unload our groceries and our clothes from the cars and we were all moved in. The friendly neighbor Bill kept the wood shed stocked during our stay and we had a bonfire every night while we watched the sun set. Great stargazing from the dock at night allowed us unbelievable views of the meteor shower and all of the stars!

The most difficult part of our week was packing up and leaving. No one wanted to go home. We will definitely return next year and make this a regular place for the family to get together. Thanks Barbara for sharing your wonderful house in the Northwoods!

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Me and my friends rented this place for New Year. The cabin was plenty big for 8 people. It was warm and cozy; beautiful view of the lake from the living-room. The stores are close by and also snowmobiles and skiing is like 30min from the cabin. The owners were also very nice and helpful whenever we call them. Thank you Barbara for letting us stay in the cabin, we really enjoy our vacation there. We plan to rent this cabin for the summer.

Hurt Family Lake Home Review

  • 4 of 5
The house was plenty big and we had more than enough room for two families to stay here and never feel like they were on top of each other. The lake was beautiful and the fishing was excellent - especially later in the evening. We caught one every cast and even some keeper size bass. We would say that the house needs a pretty big top to bottom cleaning inside and out. We know it is a lake home, but it was not that clean and we ended up doing a lot of our own cleaning when we arrived. The basement has had obvious water damage that causes a musty smell in many parts of the house. The basement needs to be addressed. I would also suggest that someone clean up the beach a bit as well - they advertised 200ft of beach front, but only about 30ft of that was usable due to lack of sand and way too many weeds/logs. We also found a lot of glass and bottle caps on the beach which was a concern - we cleaned that up as well. We also had issues with the boat being broken as well as the paddle boat when we arrived. The owner got the boat fixed by her local handyman pretty quickly, which was great. The kids loved the swimming and the kayaks. All in all this was a great trip and a wonderful location and home and the owner was very attentive to our needs and issues that came up. With a top to bottom cleaning this place would be a solid 5 star location for anyone to rent!
