The four of us enjoyed our stay in the beautiful brownstone property on Cedar. The location was perfect for walking everywhere from Second City to the Art Institute. We were able to comfortably visit together but had privacy at the same time. The restaurants and nightclubs were right around the corner and we enjoyed several of them. Cedar is a very quiet residential street and sleeping was easy and we felt safe and right at home.

Disappointed don't believe the hypeDisappointed don't believe the hype
The house is not as described it not luxurious by any standards and is in the main dirty, musty and tatty.
I could have looked past the condition of the fixtures and fittings but there is no excuse for dirty bedding, curtains and general dust.
We never found the e z bed which was advertised and had to sleep on a very uncomfortable and worn sofa bed (that was after we had to initially brushed off the hair, bottle tops and food that was in the mattress) .
The sofa was ripped and worn and covered over with a musty blanket and all of the furnishings without exception were in a similar condition.
The kitchen cupboards were tatty and the shelves needed a good clean.
The bathrooms had mould in, the mirror in one was discoloured and the toilet coming off the wall.
The bedding for the sofa beds was dirty and several of the pillows had what looked like blood on them I won't even say what some of the stains on the sheets looked like.
The plastic plants in the property were filty as were the windows, pelmets and skirtings.
I could go on but you can read the previous 2 unhappy customers to get the rest of the picture.
I e mailed the letting agent as many of these issues are easy to fix, but it would appear they are not bothered as a previous renter appears to have already pointed some of this issues out and was assured they had been dealt with. This is not true.
We were here 3 nights, had we been in a hotel we would have insisted on being moved.
We made the most of it, (we did not want to spend our precious time complaining).
In fairness the property is a good size and without doubt in an amazing location. But there were plenty of properties available in this area for the price we paid for this one.
The two stars is for the location and size of the property.
