Guestbook comments from the owner

We've enjoyed our stay in Holland & our visit to the beach! We loved playing cards & relaxing in your house. The boys had a blast playing ball in your spacious backyard! We all had a great time playing put put & laser tag. We experienced Oval Beach and the Sasugatuck Dune Ride! Everyone loved the variety of restaurants especially the "Crazy Horse Steakhouse and Saloon!" Dessert was a lot of fun with the variety of ice cream parlors. We really enjoyed the historic Downtown Holland performers on Thursday nights !

Sincerely, The Runco Family

P.S. We were very excited to enjoy the Ottawa County Fair.

A Home Away From Home

We were visiting our seven year old grandson and his mother, who live in nearby Grandville, during the first week of August. Our grandson spent the week with us. Joe and MaryAnn's house was everything we needed and more. This home was even better than the pictures can demonstrate. We felt right at home as soon as walked through the front door. The whole house was clean, well decorated and comfortable. Three bedrooms, very nicely furnished, a huge front and back yard with a fire pit and chopped wood in the back, where we roasted marshmallows a couple of evenings. We were impressed that the home was supplied with just about everything we needed. The washer and dryer were a blessing. Our grandson brought his bike and there were bikes in the garage we could use, so we went for several bike rides. Many of Joe and MaryAnn's personal touches throughout the home just added to its charm and warmth. Holland and the surrounding area is beautiful and there is so much to do in the area. Our week was a whirlwind of activity - from the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven, Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon, riding the dunes in Saugatuck, Nelis' Dutch Village in Holland, jet skiing on Lake Michigan, to spending time at nearby Holland State Park. We ate at so many wonderful restaurants that it would be hard to pick a favorite. We found a candy store called The Peanut Store, which has all sorts of candies and chocolates, salt water taffy and all kinds of candy from the good old days - candy that I haven't seen in a long time. There is an ice cream shop just up the street a ways, Captain Sundae, which was packed with people every night, but, wow, did they have the best ice cream ever!! The whole area is so beautiful, with marinas and boats and beautiful water. The weather was perfect, even cooler than what we had been having in Seattle at that time. We highly recommend Novetske's Ottowa Beach Ranch House. We hope to spend many more vacations in this wonderful home.

We came in late Thursday and was pleasantly surprised at how homey and comfortable it was. We were so sleepy but we ended up playing some games that were furnished in the living room. Very fun. Saturday drove out to visit Ludington Silver Marshes, dunes and tunnel park. Later had dinner in town at the pizza place, went back to the place and relaxed played some card games. It was a cold weekend and thanks to this house definitely keep a cozy, warm and comfortable. Had everything you need linen, towels, pots, pans, appliances you name they probably . I recommend and go exploring the cost the go into the forest by white cloud and exploxe the dam etc

Home Away from Home

We sensed the welcoming atmosphere of this home as soon as we walked in the door. It was clean, nicely furnished, and the beds were comfortable. We were immediately impressed with how well supplied the house was. Everything from toiletries, laundry supplies, paper products, condiments and spices, and even a pac and play! We spent the week with our son and his family of 3 small children enjoying the foosball game, screened porch, big backyard, fire pit, games, and reading material. Ample off-street parking also provided space for area family guests.
Holland attractions we enjoyed were Ottawa Beach, running down the sand dune at Tunnel Park, Crazy Bounce, and the disc golf course nearby. We loved ice cream at the General Store, lunch on the terrace at Boatwerks on the lake, Russ's, and of course, The Peanut Store. Returning to our alma maters of Hope College and Western Seminary was also a plus. Holland has so much to offer in the summer - farmer's market, concerts, street entertainers, kids activities and more.
The owners, Joe and MaryAnn, are courteous and were very accessible and responsive to our questions and requests. We would definitely go back!

A great town to come and visit and a great rental house. We enjoyed the cleanliness and central location of the house the best. This house was also very cozy for night time relaxation. We visited the market downtown which provided great fresh vegetables, bread, beef jerky, and fudge! There are also two great ice cream shops down the street. The bike path let's you travel to the beach, downtown, or to just get some exercise. Loved the beach with it's cleanliness and location to house. Don't forget to stop at The Crazy Horse for some awesome food! The New Holland Brewery provides great micro brews for you beer drinkers lcoated downtown. Will come back every year!
