House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 5 Sleeps

The Lookout is a great open beam view home that has two bedrooms and one full bath, plus a sitting/play room. There is a nice view of the snow capped Olympic Mountains, shipping lanes and spectacular sunsets from almost every room in the home and from the large deck. The home is located at the bottom of a steep primitive road on a corner lot surrounded with woods. Your access to the beach is across the street just a few houses down.

There is antique shopping and dining in nearby charming Coupeville or head over to the Greenbank Farm for great pies, cheese & unique gifts or the Greenbank Grill & Bar for great food & live local music. Fort Casey and Ebey's Landing are just a short drive away. If you're feeling adventurous, exploring the bunkers at Fort Casey is a must, and or enjoying a nice day hike with spectacular westerly views at Ebey's Landing. If you are into mountain biking, The Kettle Trails are close by and are great for all types of riders.

Peaceful Escape

  • 5 of 5
Our time at "The Lookout" was magical. It was a peaceful retreat with plenty of opportunity for exploration. The house is clean, cute and cozy with artsy touches. We are nature lovers and a sea lion happened to be giving us a show in the water while we were there. Also spotted a bald eagle flying above the street in front of the house - I guess on its way to go fishing. The beach was beautiful - at times romantic and also fun for the kids. The neighborhood is very quiet - almost like we had our own little hideaway on a private island. There was just enough technology to be comfortable. We enjoyed having WIFI and high speed internet available even though we felt like we were definately on vacation from the rest of the world. We brought most of our food along, but also had fun trying out some of the local restaurants - The Penn Cove mussel farm is nearby and the local mussels melt in your mouth. We also found a bakery cafe nearby with the best cinnamon buns in the world! We didn't want to leave. We will be back!

  • The home has a small eating bar along with a dishwasher, gas range and microwave. There is a nice free standing propane fireplace, ceiling fans, wi-fi, 32 inch flat screen tv, digital tv (with minimal channels so an HDMI Cable is provided to enable streaming from your lap top), DVD player, I-Pod hookup & speakers and a washer and dryer. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom. The second bedroom is set up for kids, with two Ikea twin beds and colorful mural throughout. Downstairs there is a sitting/play room with a great view just off the garage where the washer & dryer are located.
