Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 4 Sleeps

Welcome to our cabin at Maggie's Farm, it's a place you will want to return over and over again. It's a place you can completely relax and rejuvinate. The cabin is very clean, fresh and updated. It has a large fully equipped eat in kitchen, both bedrooms have quality, comfortable queen sized beds with memory foam for a restful nights sleep. The back covered deck is a great place to hang out, relax, read a book, or try your fishing skills for native brown trout. The patio overlooks crystal clear Tucker Creek, (10 feet wide and 1-4 feet deep) and features a gas BBQ grill, with patio table & chairs. The cabin borders thousands of acres of the PISGAH NATIONAL FOREST with Trailheads and Forestry roads all around. The wildlife abounds. You may see turkey, deer, bear, Canadian geese, ducks, blue heron, Bald Eagles and more.

On Maggie's Farm we raise a small flock of sheep and have a pond stocked with Rainbow Trout. There are a large variety of fruit trees including Apple, Pear, and Peach. We also grow blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, walnut, asparagus, potatoes and many other vegetables and herbs. Across the street from Maggie's is a beautiful field of cows with the mountains as a background and a donkey named Smokey who loves to to be fed carrots.

There are many beautiful nearby waterfalls. Maggie's is Located in Balsam Grove, Transylvania County, which is also known as the 'LAND OF WATERFALLS.' There are over 200 waterfalls to enjoy HIKING, BIKING, and picnicing. Maggie's is at an elevation of 3000 feet and only 10 miles to the scenic BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY, a beautiful drive to take to the Biltmore. Go FLY Fishing or tubing on nearby Davidson or French Broad Rivers. Maggie's is an easy drive with all good paved roads, I-95 to I-26 out of Asheville and you're almost there. Let the calming sound of the creek put you to sleep at night. Beautiful mountain views all around.

Nature and its beauty everywhere

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed this cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable and large enough for the four of us. It is in a peaceful and beautiful setting, close to some of the most beautiful waterfalls and scenery you will ever find. Mark and Jacquie were fantastic hosts. We enjoyed them, their dogs and the farm. We would stay here again.

Beautiful experience

  • 5 of 5
This is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Smokey Mountains. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a short drive, there are many waterfalls to explore, and the fall color was gorgeous. We even got a little snow just before returning to Florida!
The cabin was clean and cozy, and Mark & Jacquie were so kind and helpful - terrific people. A delightful experience all around! We will definitely be back!

Fishing Galore!!

  • 5 of 5
Great hosts, scenery, waterfalls, some of the best rainbow and brook trout fishing I have experienced in a long time, add in a couple of cold ones and you have Maggie's Farm. If you want to be without reception, this is the place for you.
Wake up, throw on some waders and hit The French Broad River, drive time from the cabin, approximately 3 mn down the road just pass Living Waters. There you'll find a bridge on the right side of the road, find a place to park and start working your way down The French Broad. My buddy Rob caught his biggest river rainbow ever, measuring 17-20". On top of that, we were able to catch a limit of 15" trout including 2 brooks measuring 14".
I would definitely recommend Maggie's Farm to anyone who is just trying to get away. Families included.

Best place to stay EVER!!!

  • 5 of 5
We loved this cabin!! This cabin is located in the best area.....close to everything that we wanted to do (Kayaking, Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Park, Dupont State Forest). The thing I appreciated most of all about our stay here was the cleanliness of the cabin. I was able to RELAX because it was clean and comfortable.....I think it's the first place I've ever stayed that I can say I actually relaxed!! The owner's are very kind and we can't wait to come back!!

relaxing

Very peaceful with bright beautiful stars at night. We let our dogs run free and they loved it. It is 10 miles off the main road up a windy mountain road and we had no wi fi or cell signal.

Owner's Response: The winding mountain road to Maggie's Farm is called Parkway Drive or NC Hwy 215. It is a designated North Carolina "Scenic Byway" that leads to the Blue Ridge Parkway, just 7 miles from the cabin. Many people come to Transylvania county "The Land of Waterfalls" to view the many waterfalls (over 200). A large number of the local waterfalls are dotted all along Parkway Drive. If you use a GPS in your car, it may come in and out in the mountains, it is a good idea to also have a map handy. Cell phone service and internet service may come and go in the mountains too. Wi fi service can be accessed from the picnic table and often from the back deck if needed.

A little slice of heaven in this fast paced world

  • 5 of 5
If what you are looking for is an escape to a magical place then this is your destination. The Cabin at Maggie's Farm is perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. My husband and I booked this cabin for a last minute getaway from our busy lives. It provided the relaxation and renewed us to face the grind again. Our dogs came home tired and happy from playing in the creek behind the cabin and running the farm. The cabin is impeccable and the farm itself is beautiful. The owners were very friendly and very informative in places to see and things to do. We have found a place we plan to visit over and over again. If you want a place to get away from it all and renew your spirit then this is the place for you. 5 stars +++++
