Mountain views, close to everything. The Rocky Mountain National Park entrance & town are both very close. This is a quaint cabin with lots of room.

We highly recommend this property which is well under-priced by the owners who prefer to give a great deal to guests who take good care of their property.

Bedbug Infested!!

  • 1 of 5
This property was not only dated, it was absolutely filthy as well as having a major infestation of bedbugs. I am not sure why there was going to be a significant charge for cleaning...because it looked like this place hadn't been cleaned in years. All the beds had signs active bedbug infestations. Unfortunately, we had unloaded all of our suitcases, and beds for our two dogs and went hiking and shopping prior to checking. When we discovered the bedbugs, we packed everything back in our van and left for a 7 hour drive back home late that night, and spent the next day heat treating all our possessions so as not to infest our homes. The stairs to the outside deck were broken without a landing. The showers were moldy and disgusting. Everything was beyond dated. The only saving grace inside the cabin was the fireplace. We were scheduled to stay for three nights. It ruined our vacation. I wouldn't recommend this property for anyone, unless you want to join critters in your bed that bite! The views were absolutely spectacular!! I can't imagine why anyone would let such a potentially beautiful place fall in such disrepair. Thankfully, the manager (owner?) promptly refunded our money.

Great location and roomy house for big group

  • 3 of 5
I have to say my feedback is very similar to a previous review. House was perfect for a larger group, but I would not recommend younger children in the lower rooms. One of the bedrooms has door access and my younger kids were scared of it, so teenagers took the lower rooms. Not a huge deal since there was an extra futon and sofa sleeper upstairs. We traveled with kids 9,10, 17 & 20. And my mother-in-law.

Just going to get my nit-picking out of the way, the house had some wall marks and water damage. Also one night it rained, the roof did leak. TV in the basement didn't work and there was not an internet connection. This was frustrating for the kids at night when we were in for the evening, but did give me good excuse not to check in at work. Also, there were not many curtains. There is an area with a futon to sleep, but no curtains, so made my younger kids nervous about sleeping in that area. Put up a sheet, so problem was solved.

Let me say, the area and location is perfect! Especially for the price. Plenty of towels, sheets and dishes. The area was so quiet and nice to walk in the morning. On an early morning walk, we did see some elk and stayed away but close enough to see them. It was very cool! The house is very spacious and the kids loved the master bedroom jacuzzi!

Again, not to copy the previous review, but great view when you sit on the deck and it was so close to RMNP and Estes Park. It really was the perfect spot for us.

The front deck was nice to sit on and cook out, but we did have to dust off some chairs off the back deck, again, not a huge deal.

There was another comment regarding the fridge. We did notice it was really slow in the beginning, but John sent someone out very quickly, replaced the fridge and we had no other issues. John always responded quickly to my many questions, as this was our first experience with a rental property.

I would recommend this place, and would like to stress that the location, price, and customer service makes up for the few concerns we had.

A great weekend in a rustic and relaxing cabin!

  • 4 of 5
The house has great mountain views that you wake up to in the master bedroom or the sunset you watch from the deck off the master bedroom as the humming birds perch on the trees. The house actually has 5 full or queen size beds and the living room has 3 sofas and a day beds, lots of sleeping area. Large kitchen table to sit many, don't really cook when I am on vacation but made coffee and kept the milk cold in the frig. 2 showers in the house, plenty of towels and hot water every morning. Very happy with my stay didn't Colorado to watch, but the TV did work.

Not worth it

  • 1 of 5
This house needs major updating. Website info stated there was a grill, there was not. Owner brought out a tiny, portable one that sat on the ground? Not really useable for ten people. The showers were awful! The shower was basically a metal box and the heads fall off when turned on and proceed to attack you and the walls. THe dryer was so old that it took about six cycles to actually dry the clothes. One of the comforters had a blood stain on it. WE did not use the kitchen, especially since initially the frig was not cold upon arrival? Some of the forks, spoons etc...were dirty. Several of our own chairs were ruined from tar dripping off the roof. The only positives were the view and the wildlife. We did get to see a bear in our driveway on the last night.I wouldn't normally complain about little things, but even for the less expensive fee, still not worth it.

Owner's Response: Upon these guests arriving the first complaint received was that the tv wasn't working. I immediately drove to the house to check the tv and bring a grill as requested. It was a brand new small grill capable of cooking six burgers at a time. Upon arriving at the house and pointing the remote at the tv and turning it on the problem was solved, the tv worked. They knew the tv worked, however, they wanted prime channels. There were 50 plus channels, just not the specialty channels (HBO, CINEMAX, etc) desired by the guests. Upon solving the tv problem the older lady next complained that the fridge was not cooling. We went to get a replacement fridge & upon returning found the fridge to have ice dammed inside. Upon removing the ice the fridge & freezer worked & the temps were cooler. They also complained about the dryer being so slow.... It is slow especially when full of large quantities of clothing etc...

After 50+ guests this summer I am sorry to say that this is the first we were unable to please. Having this "guest" stay with us was a very trying experience. Their party of 10 should try one of the local motels where they will pay 3 or more times the price nightly & get to dine out every meal.
