2nd annual adult only tubing trip

  • 5 of 5
This was our second annual adult only tubing trip. We had 4 couples and greatly enjoyed our weekend. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the wrap around porch. We utilized the porch the most out of the entire house. We put the picnic table on the porch so that we could all enjoy the outside as much as possible to observe the other people going down the river. As far as the sleeping arrangements went, the house is better suited for adults and kids because the 3rd bedroom isn't ideal for adults. The outside sauna was definitely a benefit, since the river was freezing, we immediately jumped into the sauna to get warm. A major plus! We were able to drive to a local tube/canoe rental place and pay $5 a person to put ourselves into the river and then float right to the cabin and get out. Well worth the price to get right out at the cabin after a long afternoon of drinking and floating. We managed to get in 3 trips down the river! All in all, the cabin was in very good condition, the only thing that could have been better was the amount of cobwebs and spiders in the basement sleeping/bathroom area. The basement area was awesome with the pool table/ping pong table/ and poker table. We spent one evening down there playing all the games and there was plenty of room for 8 adults. I would say the trip was a success!! Thanks again for such a wonderful cabin on the river. We definitely will be back.

Great guys trip to the Manistee River

  • 5 of 5
Myself and four of my friends from high school decided to rent this cabin for a guys trip up north. We could not have been more impressed with this place. I do not think the pictures do it justice. The bedrooms are clean and roomy. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would need. The downstairs rec area was great for 5 guys in the early 30's. We got lots of use out of the pool table, ping pong table, and poker table.

As for the outside of the place we utilized the great sauna which was a nice added surprise for our trip. The location on the river was perfect. We were able to walk down to the canoe livery and rent kayacks and tubes. We had a great afternoon traveling down the beautiful Manistee River.

We used the provided charcoal grill to cook all our meals.

Charlotte was a very nice person to deal with while booking the cabin and throughout our stay. Everything was very easy.

I would recommend this place to anyone who was looking to get away in beautiful northern Michigan for some fun and relaxation.

Family Fall Fun Weekend

  • 4 of 5
My family and I (ages 65 to 2) spent three nights in this lovely home. It's so roomy and even with 5 boys all running around we never felt cramped. We so enjoyed the wrap around porch; from conversation, playing cars on the floor to losing oneself in a good book. The river is peaceful to watch and all enjoyed the rented kayaks for two full days. Then we end our day with family games around the large dining table. So much fun!

A great time was had by all!

  • 5 of 5
My family (80 yr. old parents, children and spouses –ages 25-31, and 3 month old granddaughter) and I spent 3 nights at this home and had a wonderful time. We took the owner’s advice and rented tubes from Shel-Haven (within walking distance) for two of the days and the experience was enjoyed by all. The home had a fantastic game room which included a ping-pong table, pool table and darts. These activities were enjoyed in the evening. There was plenty of room for yard games, also! The home was very clean and was set up better than anticipated. The wrap around porch was great as was the small deck down by the river. The kitchen was better equipped than I could have imagined. We ate all of our meals on-site and other than the food, all supplies were available. My "kids" are already asking if we can go back again next year! I would highly recommend this facility for families looking to have a good time!

Great Family Reunion Getaway!

  • 5 of 5
Family members were coming from Texas, Minnesota and all over Michigan for a small Family Reunion. This was the PERFECT rental for our 4 day weekend of fun! The location is just gorgeous with lots of room on the property for yard games we brought.

The dock on the river was great to sit with morning coffee or any other time of the day. Saw some pretty big fish and had some fun quick conversations with lots of people in canoes, kayaks, and tubes floating by.

I cannot express how great the covered wrap around porch was! The pictures on the posting just don't do it justice. It was very large and plenty of seating area and perfect for us when it decided to rain! We all loved sitting around the fire pit which was supplied with plenty of wood.

The inside of the house was super clean and very spacious upstairs, with plenty of cooking room, relaxing living area and dining/card playing area! And the downstairs was PERFECT for us, especially since the weather was unusually cool and rainy a couple days. Late into the night, we had Euchre tournaments, Pool games, and the Ping Pong tournaments were the big hit! We did take advantage of the nicest weather day, and rented canoes and kayaks from Shel=Haven just a walk away and had an awesome fun time on the river for a few hours.

The owners were very helpful from beginning to end with any questions or details we asked. And even though my family would enjoy themselves anywhere as long as we were together....EVERYONE thought this was the most perfect place we could have rented!! A great getaway to a beautiful spot in nature.

Biggest Highlights of this Rental: LARGE COVERED WRAP AROUND PORCH 2 FIRE PIT LOCATIONS DOCK ON THE RIVER EXTREMELY LARGE DOWNSTAIRS GAME AREA VERY CLEAN AND ROOMY

Everything is ready for your arrival....all you need to bring is food/drink, clothes and personal items and have a wonderful time! I would highly recommend this vacation spot for anyone! Thank you so much again Terry & Charlotte for allowing us to enjoy your home!
