This well maintained and very clean and fresh smelling unit is located across the river from a state preserve and a archaeological state park which allows for wonderful views from the windows!-the morning flight of the gulls up the river to King's Bay, the mid- morning shore walk of the white heron's with an occaasional blue heron. The evening shore sightings of the beloved manatee. Also the dock is the place to be for fishing in the evening even if the fish don't bite. And watching or joining the river activity. This unit is a great "base" place to stay: we enjoyed our coffee on the deck in the morning and then explored for the day. When John and Jill say they have the unit stocked; they do. You just need your beach towels. Our family enjoyed the local activity of kayaking to 3 sister's spring and out to King's Bay. My daughter was surprised she enjoyed the fresh water river over the ocean, used the pool deck for tanning(pool water still a bit cool). As with any place in nature ( and FL)- bring your bug spray. We enjoyed eating at Peck's in Ozello, Cafe on the Avenue (Citrus Ave), and Roccos italian off of hwy 44. The people in Crystal River are friendly and helpful. And there is the chamber of commerce full of helpful information and coupons.
