Our stay was wonderful. Close enough to the beach to walk. The house is amazing. The owners were fabulous to work with.

Beautiful Home - Great Location!

This is a wonderful home perfect for extended family and children! The layout works well for multiple family units and is just a very short walk to the beach. And what a beautiful home! There are many great aspects of this house, but my favorite by far is the common area on the third floor - a HUGE very modern kitchen with an equally huge living and dining space that can seat 15. It is very open and has TONS of windows and therefore, lots of natural light (a must-have on a beach vacation). Also, there is a great view of the ocean from the living room and deck (which I couldn't tell from the pictures on the website). On the bottom floor there is a huge rec-room of sorts with a comfortable futon that can easily accommodate multiple children (we brought along a porta-crib and a blow-up mattress which fit very well in this space). Just a heads-up, though - this "rec-room" is the fifth bedroom, which worked just fine for us, but could be a little disappointing if adults had to stay in it. The master bedroom has a GIGANTIC walk-in closet that could be another bedroom (!) and a beautiful bathroom with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. All the bedrooms are well spread out so that none of them share a wall, which was nice with so many people. There is one big room on the bottom floor (as mentioned above - the "rec-room"), three bedrooms on the second floor (with two full bathrooms), and one bedroom on the top floor (with a full bathroom as well). Even though the bedroom on the top floor is off the common area it feels separated enough and the couple in that bedroom was able to sleep even when the rest of us were in the kitchen and living space. The walk to the beach wasn't as long as I was afraid it might be - just a short two blocks that was very do-able for both our children and grandparents. It feels very much like you're "right there" especially with the view of the beach and ocean from the main floor. You can also easily walk to the main area of Kure Beach with restaurants and the fishing pier. We loved Kure Beach itself - a quieter family beach that was not at all crowded, but close to Carolina Beach where there is a bit more to do (and just a 10 min drive to Ft. Fisher and the NC Aquarium). As you can tell, I highly recommend this beach house! My family will definitely be coming back next summer!
