Herring Run -- Water Front Salt Estuary with great views
East Machias Downeast and Acadia

A house with charm...

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at Herring Run was a pleasure. The house is full of charm, a mix of old and new. It is roomy and bright; the kitchen is well appointed. The house was in perfect order when we arrived and Jody was a pleasure to work with setting up the rental. We were well located for our trip to Machias Seal Island and ventured to Campobello to visit the Roosevelt cottage and did a whale watch with Capt. Riddle which I would highly recommend. If you are traveling downeast, I know you will be pleased with a stay at Herring Run.

Our favorite place in Down East Maine!

  • 5 of 5
This is our family's favorite place in Down East Maine. The view of the cove--no matter what the weather--is alone worth a stay. It's a beautifully designed house: the kitchen is a cozy place to gather to fix a meal, and the great room is a perfect place to play games, read, sit in front of the fire, or watch the tides. There is plenty of room for kids and adults, and the location makes it perfect for exploring all of Washington County, and there is too much to take in on one visit.
