This simple cabin is perfect for someone looking for a quiet place to get away and relax.
It has three bedrooms, with queen beds in two of the bedrooms and two twins in the third bedroom. The newly re-carpeted living room has a wood burning fireplace, a large comfy couch, and a spectacular view of Whiteside Mountain.
The large front porch is also perfect for sitting and looking at the mountain, and the spacious front yard is a great place for kids to play. The whole property is surrounded by woods, so it is quiet and secluded.
The kitchen is fully furnished and sheets and towels are provided.
This is a simple, comfortable cabin that our family has owned for years. We love it dearly and know that you will too.
Can I just say that we really enjoyed our stay!! The location was exactly what we had in mind, the space was just right and the view was perfect. We used the fire place every day, the kitchen was very functional and the bed was comfy. No complaints!!
The weather was perfect and the color was prime. We didn’t want to leave….
We WILL be back. And, I have already recommended Wee Meadow to friends and family.
Sitting in the living room or on the front porch, relaxing and looking at the mountain is really the best thing about this cabin, but when you get tired of sitting, there is lots to do. You can take a 10 minute hike down the road and go spelunking in "Granite City" as the locals call it, a series of caves and rock formations in the side of the mountain. For a longer hike, you can drive about 5 minutes down to the trail head of the Chattooga River Trail. In 10 minutes you can drive to a spectacular and fun sliding rock, just off the side of the road, that is great fun for kids and adults alike. In 20 minutes, you can drive down Bullpen Road to the Chattooga River and hike or picnic along the river, and, if you want to eat out or need a city fix, downtown Highlands and Cashiers are both just a 15 minute drive from the house. If you want to play golf, High Hampton Country Club in Cashiers is just 15 minutes away.
Finally, don't forget to top off your stay by climbing Whiteside Mountain. Yes, you can climb to the top of the mountain you see in our pictures. Not up the front of course. But you can drive about 20 minutes to the back side of the mountain where there is a parking area and hike about 30 minutes up to the top. Standing on the precipice of this 5000 ft. mountain, the view is unbelievable. You can see into Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, and if you look real close, you can see the cabin where you are staying in the valley below.
