Welcome to our upgraded Waikiki two bedroom condo at Royal Aloha. It has a fully equipped kitchen, queen bed in the master bedroom, two beds in the second bedroom, a sofa sleeper in the living room, and a lanai with patio set. Royal Aloha is walking distance to Waikiki beach, the Kalakaua boardwalk, and also both Waikiki and local eateries and attractions. The condo is fully outfitted with all you'll need to prepare simple meals and have a comfortable stay.

Please Read this review before you go, things you should know about.

1) The Bathroom sink was backed up with sludge, it was impossible to brush teeth or wash hands. It was reported and not fixed for the entire stay we were there.
2) During our stay place was overrun by cockroaches we had to evacuate and move to Doubletree, management company neglected to tell us about the issue and hoped we will not discover them.
3) Security issue: lockbox and apartment front door electronic lock have the same pass code that never changes so just imagine how many people know it. Also management company showed up to fix some broken glass and left without locking the front door with all our valuables, camera's, and other electronics which we then had to carry with us the entire trip.
4) Towels were dirty, stained, and torn. Bath mat was moldy, kitchen faucet dirty and broken, dish rack disgustingly dirty and, toothbrush holder with residue and liquid. (After our initial complaint the management company did replace the towels, and 3 days later the dish rack).
5) Sheets stained and ragged. Master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. Beds must be equipped with head boards that allow the pillow to be used otherwise it falls right between bed and wall.
6) No central air and out of 3 AC units only 1 was working, the one that was working was blowing cold air into sofa.
7) Many difficult conversations held with management company who blamed the owner who has health issues and is unable to fix or take care of anything and cleaning people for not doing appropriate level of cleaning. At the same time owner told us that management company told him not to get involved and that they were handling it all.
8) Gave us hard time returning our security deposit.
9) When you look at the pictures posted by management company keep in mind you can crop the imperfections and they do it very well.
The place is not newly remodeled it is old and abused. We have filed a formal complaint with VRBO because the property was not as advertised or described.

This was my first time in Hawaii and I was a little hesitant in renting a condo instead of staying at a Hotel because we were arriving in Honolulu late but it was great. We took a taxi to the condo and got our keys out of the locked box and it worked out fine. I stayed here with my teen age daughter and her friend and it was very comfortable. The Condo inside is as pictured and was very clean and spacious. You can deffinately tell that it has been remodeled recently. It's location is excellent and you can walk just about anywhere in Waikiki. The only down about it that you hear all the noise outside. Police sirens, Ambulances, fire trucks and even people arguing outside. The air conditioner does block out some of the noise but I had a hard time sleeping most nights especially on the weekends. I feel if the windows were replaced with more modern windows it would block most if not all the noise. I stayed for 3 weeks and loved the location and Oahu. I loved having a parking space in the building for my rental car with secured gate. All entries into the building are secured. I would stay again if the windows and doors to Lanai were replaced to block out the noise.

We had good time at this retal unit

This is our first time to use VRBO to find a rental place. We like it! The condo was very clean and well-maintained. The unit was comfortable for 5 and we had much more space than any hotel room(s) with comparable price. The rental manager was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful stay in Honolulu. It was a little uncomfortable that we had to share one bathroom. The condo is located in a busy street, the good thing is you are close to shopping, but not so good thing is you will hear a lot sirens from streets.
Overall it is a good place and we will recommend this property to friends and relatives.
