Townhome, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Welcome and thank you for considering our property! Heights Hideaway is a charming two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath (1000 sf) vacation rental home in the beautiful Travis Heights neighborhood, just a couple of blocks from vibrant South Congress (“SoCo”) and its many restaurants, boutique shops, and premier live music venues. You’re also minutes by car, bike, cab, bus, or foot from the center of downtown and the 6th Street, Warehouse (4th Street) and 2nd Street entertainment districts, the Texas State Capitol, and the University of Texas. The Congress Avenue “Bat“ Bridge, which marks the edge of downtown, is just over a mile away and the Long Performing Arts and Palmer Event Centers, the hike-and-bike trail, Barton Springs and Zilker Park (site of the Austin City Limits Music Festival and the Trail of Lights) are at your doorstep. Heights Hideaway is across the street from Stacy Park, a Travis Heights landmark that practically connects the property with Lady Bird/Town Lake, and which has a great year-round free pool.

Heights Hideaway is a Spanish-inspired stucco garden home with a beautiful enclosed courtyard with fountain. (Although technically a duplex, the home shares no common areas - the courtyard in the pictures and the front yard are reserved for your exclusive use.) The interior is decorated in similar style, with tile and hand-scraped hardwood floors throughout and a living room with vaulted ceiling. The furnishings are elegant but were selected with comfort in mind -- this is Austin, after all! The Hideaway sleeps 4 guests in its two bedrooms (1 queen and 2 twins) and can accommodate 2 additional guests on the queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The bathroom is a "Hollywood bath," with a half bath (sink and commode) connected to a full bath (shower/tub, sink, and commode).

Whether you’re coming to experience the “Third Coast’s” world-class music and art scene, participate in Austin's abundant outdoor activities, or simply explore the great restaurants, shopping, and funky vibe that make Austin a top-rated travel destination and place to live, Heights Hacienda is your perfectly-Austin "home away from home."

IF YOU NEED MORE ROOM, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT "HEIGHTS HACIENDA," LISTING #911651HA, THE LARGER BACK UNIT OF THIS PROPERTY!

We look forward to your visit!

Great Stay

Great location. The Heights Hideaway was in the middle of everything. All the spots I wanted to go were close by. Minutes away from downtown. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Would love to stay here again. Eric was awesome throughout the whole process and even came to visit and check in on us.

Best of the Best

This is the perfect getaway for a family looking to enjoy everything Austin has to offer. Short drive or walk to enjoy the fun and eats of the South Congress. And a quick drive into the heart of the city, and the many museums close to the University. The pool across the street is heated and has nice long hours, open 6am to 8pm, and there is no charge to swim. The kitchen has every basic necessity you can think of... a big pot, non stick skillets, wine key, garlic press, etc. This home felt cleaner and better maintained than even the priciest hotels, and at a fraction of the cost. I felt comfortable, and at home during my stay. My husband is eager to return. His favorite part of the house was the courtyard. Eric, the owner, is responsive, helpful, and friendly. But gives you the freedom to enjoy the property, without feeling "watched." My recommendation to female guests is to bring your own wash clothe for your face and possibly and non-white towel to use after bathing. The towels are bright white, and you will want to leave it the same way.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your kind review. I'm glad we were able to meet since I don't always have time to stop by during guests' visits. Thanks also for the suggestion to female guests about a washcloth. Although we have baby wipes for make-up removal, some guests might prefer to bring their own cloth for that purpose. We look forward to seeing you again!

Heights Hideaway

I stayed in this property for one month while I was completing an internship in Austin in Nov. 2013. This was my first visit to Austin so I was unsure of where to stay, but this property was clearly the right choice. I cannot say enough about the location of this property. It is very close to downtown Austin, Zilker Park, Rainey Street, and the multiple restaurants and shops on South Congress. It is also conveniently located less than a mile off of Interstate 35. The property is exactly as pictured, and is maintained very well. There is a nice outdoor area with a table and a charcoal grill. Finally, Eric was great to work with. He was helpful explaining the area (to somebody new to Austin), and he was easy to contact, which, in my experience, can be difficult with many rental websites. Also, Eric even took the time to stop by and see how I was enjoying the place. It was clear that he wants his visitors to enjoy their stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this property and will definitely be staying in one of Eric’s properties on my next trip to Austin

Terrific!!!

What a great location and terrific hosts.

We spent a month that went by too quickly. Although the weather was hit and miss, our experience at Heights Hideaway was great. The owners are both great people and were very helpful if we had a question.

One can walk to many wonderful restaurants and shops along S. Congress, just a couple of blocks away. Amy's for ice cream, Guera's Tacos on a Saturday afternoon listening to bands in their outdoor patio, Lucy's for chicken, The Continental for indoor music and Home Plate Pizza. Groceries, drug store even a thrift store are within several blocks. The place is centrally located for easy access to every part of Austin. And let us not forget Big Stacy park with its heated pool across the street. Our daily walks with our dog in the park provided all of us with a little exercise during our stay.

We will definitely return on our next visit to Austin.

Between houses in Austin

This is an adorable, cozy cottage. Eric's properties are always decorated with great style and charm. The house worked great for my family. We explored all the amenities, went to the park, played tennis, swam at Big Stacy pool and enjoyed the lovely outdoor patio. Can't miss with this place!

Beautiful Townhome in Perfect Neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed here for 10 days at the end of March and it was such a wonderful experience! From the reviews I read I thought the townhome would be nice, but I really didn't expect it to be as nice as it was! There was plenty of space, with 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a full-equiped laundry room and full- sized kitchen, and dining room, and the most beautiful, relaxing outside private courtyard with a little fountain and table and chairs. Both the living/dining room and master bedroom have sliding glass doors to the courtyard, and you can hear the fountain all the time if you leave the windows open. The kitchen was great - I did a lot of cooking while we were there, and the stove and dishwasher worked just great.

The townhome is located right across from a park, and just around the block from S. Congress, where all the best little shops and cafes and foodcarts are. I don't think you could find a more perfect location. I couldn't believe with all this, it cost less than a hotel too! This was our first time using a vacation rental, but it was such a great experience, we're definitely going to be looking for vacation rentals when we travel from now on.

Thanks again so much for a wonderful time!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your kind words! Lots of guests stay here for the proximity to S. Congress and all it has to offer. Thanks for pointing out the benefits of the property itself -- we think it's a nice retreat, too! Please come back and see us.
