Comfortable Stay in Lovely Home

  • 4 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay in this house. My family (my husband and children ages 6 and 9) found the home clean, convenient and comfortable! The children really enjoyed the pool and the space. There was a family room and separate living room to relax in. No arguments over television programming during rainy times! Linda and Dave live next door which gave us a further level of comfort. If we needed anything (there was a slight issue with the A/C and Linda had it fixed IMMEDIATELY), we gave them a call and they were always available. Yet they were also extremely respectful of our privacy. Fabulous home, fabulous landlords. My only suggestion to them would be to replace some housewares (rusted potato peeler, thongs for bbq, etc). But then again, not everyone cooks as much as me on vacation (I'm celiac and my son is allergic to many, many foods.) The stove was sparking, btw!) We can't wait to visit again next year and enjoy the lovely dock as the children scan the canal for manatees. See you guys next year! Ps. I wanted to rate the stay as 4.5 stars but there was no such option.

Paradise on the Water!

  • 5 of 5
My girlfriend, myself and a very happy 4 year old were extremely pleased to stay at this property. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and best of all, situated on a beautiful waterway, where we were on the constant lookout for manatees. The large pool area and jacuzzi were screened in which made it very comfortable. We loved sitting in the gazebo, which is closer to the water, and having our lunch, relaxing and just taking it all in. The house was nicely decorated and doesn't seem like your typical rental property as we felt very much at home.

The owners, Linda and Dave, were wonderful and helpful hosts. They live next door, so they were available if we had any questions, but we felt like we had the house all to ourselves since they were never intrusive. We've had some hits and misses with vacation rentals in the past, but this one is definitely one of our favorites!

Best Family Holiday We Have Ever Had

  • 5 of 5
We wanted to avoid the generic disney type villas of Orlando area and looked for something more close to nature, near the beaches and with easy access to attractions and The Cove more than exceeded our expectations.

The property itself had the feel of a genuine home, not a standard vacation rental. All the rooms were great and having 2 x lounge areas meant we all could do what we wanted. There were a huge amount of personal touches - fishing poles, bicycles, inflatables for the pool, which meant we could do so much more without any thought or effort. By far though the location of the Villa, next to the rvier and with its own deck was our highlight - to have wild dolphins and manatee's cruising by was just superb. My wife is a keen ornithologist and the birdlife really made her holiday - especially the Ospreys.

If we ever needed help, Linda and Dave who manage the propery were just next door - always available if we needed help, but never intrusive. For the kids it was the pool and the lizards everytime. I would have no problem in reccomending The Cove - we had a great hoiliday.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5
My family of 4 adults and 3 young children all under 6 thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay at this lovely property. The house was well stocked and very comfortable. The owners gave us a warm welcome and good instructions, and were very reasonable about responding to some accidental damage. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and we enjoyed fishing in the back yard. We found the location of the house handy for our sight seeing and shopping trips. All conversations related to renting the property were handled in a professional and courteous manner. We would definetly recommend this property and would rent again if the opportunity came up.

Wonderful Vacation Home

  • 4 of 5
We stayed in this lovely home just last week. As a family of four with 2 teen boys we were looking for a place that had enough space for living, sleeping and enjoying family time. This home provided all of this and then some. There was more than enough room for the four of us and the 2 bathrooms made our mornings go smoothly so we could get our day started. Although the weather was too cool for the pool we did get to use the hot tub. On our first day we sat on the dock and watched 2 manatees floating and bobbing in the channel behind the house. The kitchen provided us with more than enough cutlery, cooking items and even spices and condiments. The house was located in a quiet subdivision and close to grocery stores and restaurants. It was clean and the owners were very helpful if we had any questions. There was a wet bar outside by the pool with a fridge to reduce traffic from the pool into the house however the bar itself could do with a little clean up/TLC. The grounds are very well kept up with small gardens which makes for a lovely view when sitting outside. There is a fire pit outside for your use. We did not have good weather and did not use this but were pleased that it was available. We did a lot of day trips to state parks, beaches and swimming with manatees. All of these excursions were about a 45 minute drive or more from the house. There were coolers available to us so we could pack lunches and have cool drinks. There are bicycles and fishing rods available as well. The garage was very convenient as was the washer and dryer, which also had soap supplied. Overall we had a lovely stay at this house and would stay there again if we eve revisited Tampa.
