Charming casita

We had a lovely one month stay in this charming private, peaceful, and convenient cottage. Many vacation rentals are on busy streets and you feel like you are in a plastic and concrete environment but not this little place. Every time we returned from a busy Tucson day we were happy to get back to this quiet cottage. The location is in an excellent part of Tucson. We like to bike, hike, eat and shop and could do all of these within a 5 to 15 minute drive. Great restaurants in this part of town and Trader Joes five minutes away. Super desert hiking in Sabino Canyon only 8 miles away and the paved Rillito bike trail for short or long cycling trips. We are already booking a stay for next year.

Perfect place to stay!

We recently took a trip to Tucson over the Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays, and this was the perfect place to stay. The property is very clean and well-maintained. There is a large patio on the main level and a balcony upstairs, both with beautiful views of the desert. I particularly enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset from the upstairs balcony.

The owners are very friendly and responsive and even left us a nice bottle of champagne to help us bring in the New Year. This property is very close to many Tucson attractions, including restaurants, mountain biking trails, hiking trails, and museums, yet is in a quiet area that feels very private. I highly recommend this property and plan to stay here again when I visit Tucson.

Private, beautiful, perfect

I can't emphasize enough what a great place this is. It's only a few minutes away from the main intersections of Campbell/River and Campbell/Skyline (La Encantada) so restaurants and shopping are very convenient. Yet, when you are staying there it is incredibly quiet and private. I saw all kinds of desert wildlife from my windows, and the surrounding few acres are a nearly undeveloped Sonoran desert landscape.
The landlords are wonderful and very responsive to questions that came up. The furnishings are nice, and although the kitchen is compact, I was able to make many great meals there. There is a chiminea for cold winter nights, but also a powerful heating system and good air conditioning. For its size, a fair amount of space for storage. The bathroom is modern, and there's a balcony upstairs that's a perfect place to watch the sunset.
There aren't too many rentals that I actually *miss* after I've left, but this is one of them! I'd recommend it, particularly for 1-2 people, with no hesitation.

  • Hige degree of privacy. Natural desert foothills setting. Very close to U.A., shopping centers, great dining, and numerous hiking trails. Wireless Internet. Gas grill (BBQ). Sit on deck to sip your wine as the sun sets behind the Tucson Mountains. Drive 45 mins. to top of Mt. Lemmon; a subalpine forest at 10,000 ft. in your backyard! Tucson is a VERY bike-friendly city.
