A fantastic vacation home

  • 5 of 5
We're a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and stayed at the Bayhouse for a week in August. After a fairly hectic first week travelling to New York followed by a couple of days at Universal Studios in Orlando we were really looking forward to some quality relaxation time.

So we were delighted to arrive at the Bayhouse to find it better than we imagined. It's fair to say the property is larger than it looks in the photos and there's separate areas to chill out in, one with great views overlooking the canal and the other being the TV area. A lot of Florida holiday homes tend to be decorated fairly neutral, bordering on bland. This one has character and felt more homely.

The outdoor pool area is great, again it's surprisingly roomy with a decent sized pool to cool off in.

Location wise we found it to be in a great spot. 25 minutes from Busch Gardens and a short drive to lots of restaurants including The Cheesecake Factory.

I would highly recommend the Bayhouse and hope to return in the near future.

Sister Get Away

  • 5 of 5
My four sisters and I had a marvelous time at the Bayhouse. Ever since our mother passed away from Leukemia, my sisters and I try to get together at least once a year for a "sister" retreat. When we opened the door, we were all drawn to the beautiful water view and immediately proceeded to the lanai. As we looked around, we all noticed a basket of games with our mother's favorite game (Aggravation) sitting prominently on top of the basket! We all shed a tear and a laugh and knew that our mother was with us. We knew we had chosen the right rental home! The home was tastefully decorated, extremely clean, and had a cozy feeling of home. We enjoyed the water view every morning and the pool every afternoon. There was plenty of room and it was located in a great spot. We all would highly recommend renting this home. Bill and Susan were very accommodating and the rental process was a breeze. Thank you Bill and Susan for providing a wonderful home away from home! We had a fabulous time!

Stunning Serenity

  • 5 of 5
First Impression: Wow! 2nd through 7th impression: More Wow!
Bayhouse fulfils all that is advertised and more. Spacious, open living/dining area, a dream kitchen with luxurious amenities, cozy beds in 3 spacious bedrooms, walk in closet and shower in the master suite that fit my 6 foot 6 inch giant of a son...very spa-like. We were a family group of 7 adults (age range 19 to 70) and the home met all of our needs and desires. We took full advantage by shopping locally, sharing cooked meals and barbecuing whenever we had the chance.
The canal setting is spectacular and the location very convenient. Our family took short excursions to various Tampa venues or day trips to Orlando/Kissimmee and along the gulf coast. Personally, most of my time was spent by the pool on the dock, with coffee or cocktail in hand, watching time slowly tick by while viewing the birds and flying fish, waving to passing sailors, being amused by the geckos and the greatest thrill was when the Manatees came to visit.
This was my first time organizing an extended family vacation and Bill and Susan made it easy and secure. Their pride of ownership is demonstrated by the great care they take in providing professional staff to service the property and they are exceptionally welcoming and responsive to ensure their guests enjoy their stay.
Thank you, Bill and Susan, for making a mere vacation an experience!

Owner's Response: We are indeed very proud of the Bayhouse. And very happy your family fully enjoyed the 'escape' experience of the house and salt water as well as all Tampa has to offer. Manatee's off the dock are always a wow.

Very nice place to stay

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at the Bayhouse for two weeks with my wife, daughter and her friend and we really loved it. House was clean and well maintaned. It was well eguipped. It was at least as good as the description. There was plenty of room for 4 people. There is enought room for at least 6 people. The neighbourhood was peacefull. It was nice and safefull to take a walk. Also the patio, deck and pool were good. The owner had provided enough information about the house and surroundings. He was also interested and asked by email if everything is ok. We can recommend this house to our friends and other tourists. Also we could think to rent this house again, if we go to Tampa. Great house-can't wait to return!

Great house-can't wait to return!
  • 5 of 5
My family & I had a great time staying here. I went with my parents (60s), sister & brother in law (both in mid 30s along with me)& nephew (4 yrs old) so there was a mix of age groups but we each had a great time. Bill & Susan sent us fantastic info that was very helpful & the pictures of this place online don't do it justice as this place is even nicer in person-plus it's large-at any given time the 6 of us would always have our own space especially in the open concept living/dining/kitchen area. The property was clean & well-maintained & the neighbourhood was very nice so we enjoyed walks as a family around neighbourhood. We kept busy on our trip going to aquarium, Clearwater beach, on a day cruise & to an NFL game and Dunedin which were not too far away from the house, there's also a great bowling alley (Pin Chasers) we had a great time at. Though we kept busy we also enjoyed a few days hanging around this house since we could take a dip in the pool & fish off the dock which my nephew loved (he never caught anything but the fish actually jump out of the water a lot so it was quite entertaining to watch them) & relax in the beautiful space. We felt like we had the neighbourhood to ourselves since we hardly ever saw neighbours but when we did they were very pleasant. I would certainly recommend this place & would happily return since we were so impressed with the house along with Bill & Susan's hospitality.

BayHouse stay in Tampa

  • 5 of 5
The accommodation was first class! Very quiet despite proximity to airport. Lovely residential community where you felt completely safe. We absolutely loved the cool Lanai, sitting in the rocking chair and watching the water. Beautiful, peaceful and serene views from the dock and it was hard to leave to venture out. Small pool was also very welcoming early evening as it was 33 degrees every day! Also appreciated the ceiling fans which were quiet.
Owners emailed to ensure we had arrived safely and to wish us a safe trip back home. Very welcoming but not intrusive.
30 minutes from main beaches and it was always nice to return to the property away from all the other tourists :-)
Favourite restaurants - The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth's Chris steakhouse, OysterCatchers at the Hyatt. Fabulous crab and swordfish sandwiches at the café/hut in Dunedin.
Would fully recommend this property to others - it's not on the main tourist track and we really liked it that way!
