House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 10, Columbine Lake community
You have just found the perfect headquarters for your family vacation in beautiful Grand Lake! Our large mountain home sits in a quiet cul de sac in the Columbine Lake community. A two-block walk takes you to the shores of lovely Columbine Lake. Or hop in your car and you’ll be in Grand Lake, or at the entrance to fabulous Rocky Mountain National Park, in less than five minutes. Snowmobile trails are right around the corner, as is the Grand Lake Golf Course, which becomes a cross-country ski resort in the winter. Downhill skiiers won't object to an easy 20-minute drive to Granby Ranch, or a 40-minute drive to fabulous Winter Park Resort. But you might not want to leave Elk Run! The home features four bedrooms (all with top quality mattresses!), three baths, a huge wide-open family room with big-screen cable TV and plenty of comfy seating spots, a roomy fully stocked kitchen, a washer/dryer, a big sunny front deck, and a large backyard with a firepit. Oh, and a two-car garage, where you’ll find a Weber gas grill ready to be wheeled out and used. Every window features a different mountain view — that’s Mt. Baldy from the kitchen window & deck, and the Never Summer Range from the living room windows and backyard. If you fill the bird feeders (the supplies are in the pantry) you’ll have many feathered friends to watch. And don’t be surprised to see a bull moose munching on the aspen trees that surround the house. We keep plenty of board games, card games, puzzles and books on hand for your enjoyment — it’s truly a home away from home. Our property manager is a Grand Lake native, and she will be there for you if you have any problems or concerns. Whether you come in the summer for hiking, fishing, boating or mountain biking, or make a winter visit for skiing or snowmobiling, you will never forget your vacation at Elk Run.

Great getaway for a weekend of ice fishing!!!!
Suggestion--directions should include that you turn at Columbine Lake sign, we never saw a sign for the road itself.
The grill ran out of propane after one use.
Great neighborhood, the last day there were several bull moose just around the corner from the house--awesome experience.
Wish there was a fireplace inside, we planned on using the fire pit but it rained. Would stay here again and recommend it.
Activity and Interests
Spend the day exploring one of the many hiking trails the area has to offer, then come back to the comfortable cabin and prepare a meal in the spacious kitchen. Or go into town and enjoy one of the many restaurants the Village has to offer. Enjoy the beautiful lakes in the area and majestic mountains. Walk along the boardwalk and take in the great shopping opportunities. There's horseback riding, go carts, live theater, boat tours, bowling, putt putt golf, a candy store, and a few saloons if you're feeling adventurous! With 3 major lakes in the area, fishing is a locals favorite. Take a drive through Rocky Mountain Park, and travel across the highest paved road in the US.
