House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 4 Sleeps

Casa kuxtal (in mayan "The house of life"), is a gorgeous 200 years old, recently renovated colonial house. The house was fully furnished with exquisite taste with antiques of the region. It is situated in an unbeatable location; right in the most beautiful park of Merida in the famous calle 60: Santa Ana square. Casa Kuxtal is only two blocks from Paseo Montejo and walking distance to shops, restaurants, coffee shops, theatres and museums. Buy fresh groceries in the local market, have an ice cream in the square or have a stroll in front of historical mansions, right in front of your door!

Casa Kuxtal has all the amenities you need to make your stay in Merida unforgettable: colonial high-beamed ceilings -typical of old colonial houses-, a refreshing pool, a beautiful garden, an outdoor shower and a roof garden with a great view. Everything in Casa Kuxtal is environmentally friendly, we have a solar heater, energy saving appliances (induction stove), LED lights, solar lamps, and a green roof. To make your stay more comfortable, the house includes ceiling fans, AC in both rooms, cable TV, wireless internet, phone line and a cell phone for your use during your stay. The house also includes a BBQ, board games, books and a hammock to lay down and relax!

Wonderful Holiday at the Casa Kuxtal

  • 5 of 5
We had a very relaxing stay in this beautiful historic home in Merida.
This house has all the amenities you could ask for with amazing architectural details that have been lovingly restored.
The outdoor courtyard is a fabulous oasis from the city center activities, we enjoyed wonderful Happy Hours every night enjoying the charms of the magical garden area..Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the lovely Pool as the weather was to cool.
Esteban was wonderful to deal with and was always fast to reply to my e-mails and Israel who oversees the house for Esteban was also very nice to deal with. They both have high standards which we appreciate.
The location of this home can't be beat, directly next to the beautiful Santa Ana square with it's active Mercado and only a very sort walk to the Plaza Grande.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone considering a stay in Merida, we can't wait to return to the Casa Kuxtal.

Excellent place to explore Merida

  • 5 of 5
We spent a week at Case Kuxtal and I have to admit it was the perfect place to discover Merida. Conveniently located in Santa Ana (between Paseo de Montejo and Centro historico)every service you need are nearby (public market, grocery store, art gallery, restaurant, etc.)

We also really appreciated the casa itself with it's colonial architechture, inner yard, fully equiped kitchen and cool temperature even in the summertime. Extra points for all the environmental effort by the owner.

I highly recommend this place.

Excellent!!!!

This is perfect for a familiy wanting their privacy and comfort! However It will suit all of those seeking a nice vacation: from adventure seekers to romantic getaway! The backyard and the swimming pool make perfect sense when you come back from the daily exploration of Merida the surrounding region in the warm Yucatan wheather. The house is very well located just foot steps from the historical centre of Merida. It is just about an hour drive to the Mayan ruins of Chichen-Itza and Uxmal. It is also from just about an hour driving to the towns of Valladolid and the Celestun reserve!
My wife an I had a really nice stay.
Thanks friendly Esteban and Fernanda!

Amazing house, great location, beautiful garden

  • 5 of 5
I recently stayed in Casa Kuxtal for almost two weeks over Christmas with my girlfriend and two friends. It is a beautiful house with high ceilings, cool interior design (and lighting), and all the comforts you may need (fans, air conditioning, couches, internet, dvd, cable, stereo, etc). The kitchen is a perfect size, and there is a massive dining table that we used for our Christmas feast! There is a swimming pool, hammocks, and a great garden with rocking chairs and tables to chill out in. Its location is excellent for walking into the main square (about 15 minutes), there are loads of shops, restaurants and bars nearby, and also a small market next door in a small square. It is also easy access to getting out of town with a car, and we rented a car and visited loads of cenotes, caves, and ruins nearby. Casa Kuxtal definitely gets a 10 out of 10. Loved it!

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5
What a lovely surprise Casa Kuxtal was! We just got back from five weeks there and it was a perfect place to come home to after a full day of touring. The rooms are much bigger than the photos suggest and it was perfectly located...the Santa Ana market right next door to the church for our fruits, vegtables and chicken, and a super market not even a block away on Calle 60. Add to that, two excellent bakeries near by (a French one right off Calle 60 on Calle 41) and a place to get fresh ground coffee also on Calle 60 and we were in heaven. The church bells of the Santa Ana church were glorious to hear each day and we could walk to all the events Merida has to offer every night.
