Apartment, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 3 Sleeps

Relax on your private deck with beautiful views of San Diego Bay, the downtown skyline, Coronado Island, and the nearby mountains. Watch the fighter jets take off from North Island and frequent sail boat races. Where else can you have lovely sunrises and watch the sunset reflected off the skyline from the same deck chair? The photos in our listing were taken from the very deck where you will stay!

Our home is located less than 10 minutes from the airport, Shelter Island, Harbor Island, downtown, and walking distance to restaurants, shops, yoga, a bakery, farmer's market (Sundays) and the bay. You can see the hills of Balboa Park where the San Diego Zoo is located. Sea World is 15 minutes around the corner. The border is 25 minutes to the south. The lights in Mexico are visible at night from your deck! Walk over to buy fresh fish from Point Loma Seafood, pick up a bottle of wine from The Grape Connections on your way by and stop at the bakery for some dessert or fresh bread for the morning. Or skip all that and enjoy one of HarborTown's 17 beers on tap.

Your cozy apartment with private entrance and private deck includes everything you'll need for making your San Diego vacation a most memorable experience. The kitchen is newly remodeled and the queen bed is very comfortable. We think you will be most comfortable with two people but please inquire if you have need for a 3rd guest. Parking is excellent.

Your hosts, Toni and Dave, live on the floor above and will be on hand, when needed, to answer any questions and provide recommendations for the many activities and sights San Diego has to offer. If you just want to take it easy and save money, don't rent a car and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Your hosts, Toni and Dave, live just above and will be on hand, when needed, to answer any questions and provide recommendations for the many activities and sights San Diego has to offer. When we are home we're pretty quiet so you will hardly know we're here. You're likely to see more of our two cats than us! If you want to take it easy and save money, don't rent a car and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is a path along the water that is very nice at night. We often walk down there. Overall, we think we have the best value in all of Pt Loma. Please read through our reviews to see what those who stay with us are saying.

Amazing experience

  • 5 of 5
We could not have picked a better place to stay! We decided to do a last minute road trip to San Diego for a couple of days, and I'm so glad we didn't stay in a hotel. This is a memory we will always have! We made a fire in the pit on the balcony while looking at the lights of downtown. Thank you so much for your accommodations! I already have friends I'm referring to stay here.

Owner's Response: Cailey & Chad, Toni & I are also glad you chose to stay with us. We just think VRBO is such a better choice than a hotel. You get a certain ambiance, more space, personal attention, extra amenities like the deck, and nice hosts! Plus no more expensive and often less. Thanks for the referrals and please tell your friends to say you recommended them and we'll give them a welcome surprise. Dave & Toni

Beautiful location, comfortable living

  • 5 of 5
Our visit to San Diego was absolutely wonderful, in large part to staying at Dave and Toni's home. They made us feel so welcome, it was like visiting friends. Not to mention their home is gorgeous and the porch was exceptional. We spent a significant amount of time enjoying the view and loved it. There were three of us, but that was not a problem even though it's a one bedroom. Plenty of room, and with a fridge and kitchenette, we were able to relax with some coffee and breakfast of our own, instead of having to eat each meal out. Also a huge plus - the parking: very little in San Diego areas and having street parking for free made it a huge asset.

Great stay, amazing hosts, and beautiful location. Definitely will be staying here again on another trip out to San Diego!

Owner's Response: Alison, Maggie, & Alison,
It was a delight to have you visit us for your summer getaway vacation. Toni and I enjoyed getting to know you and hearing about all the fun you were having at the bay, ocean, Coronado, downtown, La Jolla, and elsewhere. We will recommend the bike rentals at Balboa Park to others. Thanks for the kind review and we hope to see you and your friends again the next time you come to San Diego.

Great views, space and people!

  • 5 of 5
What a wonderful, warm welcome as we arrived at Dave and Toni's! We absolutely adored this place - such a fun and funky space, with all the amenities you could ever need. We really appreciated the wine after a long day of travel to get there. Dave and Toni did a great job with the space inside the apartment, and the view outside is wonderful, day or night. We will gladly stay here again and heartily recommend this listing as a one-of-a-kind, excellent choice for anyone!

The Perfect San Diego Retreat for 2

  • 5 of 5
Ann and I spent a week in San Diego for my brother's family gathering/retirement party. Much of the family stayed at a large beach house in Imperial Beach, but we wanted a smaller, more secluded and centrally located retreat. This property was perfect! Dave and Toni were great hosts and could not have been more friendly and gracious. The views are amazing and the deck was the perfect setting to watch the sun come up with a cup of coffee and to enjoy the evening with a glass of wine. We are so happy to have found this place and we look forward to returning. I highly recommend this property for a couples getaway. Thanks, Dave and Toni.

Best value in Point Loma

  • 5 of 5
This was our first trip to San Diego and we weren't sure where to stay. We were very lucky to stumble across this cozy, charming suite for two, which is perfectly situated for exploring the sights of San Diego, La Jolla and Point Loma. A bonus was that we could drive up to La Jolla via Mission Bay without taking the I5...far more scenic. We loved riding the seawall on the cruiser bikes and walking to the marina for fresh seafood to cook on the BBQ. Croissants and coffee in the mornings were only a 5-minute walk and some of San Diego's most popular eateries and a great wine shop are steps away. And where else can you spend the evenings lounging on your own private patio with an outdoor fireplace? Thanks Dave and Toni for being such wonderful hosts.

There are so many fun things to do in San Diego - many just a short walk or ride from our place - sounds like you found many of them. Come back soon!

Great View and Location

  • 5 of 5
After a week in Las Vegas, we drove to this exquisite nook. We immediately found ourselves at home and had a very enjoyable 7 day stay. Location says it all...pictures will never capture the awesome view from the patio. We were able to get to all our bucket list items in a matter of minutes. We kicked off the week by taking advantage of the Old Town Trolley Tour to get a grasp of San Diego and all it has to offer. We spent the rest of the week enjoying our preferred spots from the tour such as Old Town, Gaslamp District, La Jolla, Balboa Park, Seaport Village and Coronado Island. Played Torrey Pines golf course and spent an enjoyable full day traveling up the Pacific Coast Highway. Dave & Toni were great hosts! We have already recommended this gem to friends...one of which has booked a future stay. ;)
