Dear Denise & Family,

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. we had a great vacation at The Sanctuary. Your home has something to offer everyone. The hot tub, board games, art supplies, beach, local shopping and walks to the market place, were big hits with the girls. My son & husband enjoyed the WIFI, big screen TV & choice of numerous gold courses. I loved just sitting on the deck; sipping the wonderful wine you gifted, reading the inspirational books from your library and watching listening to the beautiful song birds visiting your feeders. Even our puppy Benny, freely roamed your fenced in yard. Best of all it was a pleasure meeting you & having the oppurtunity to experience your Thai Massage Therapy. I left relaxed but energized for the rest of the week.

The Sanctuary was all we hoped for and more. If you are looking to get away from the hustle & bustle of life in general, this is the place to spend a week. It's quiet and peaceful but not so far off the beaten path that you feel isolated. The decks encouraged our family to read, talk and play games. Being able to take our bikes right off the front deck to go for a ride was a nice change from having to pack them on the car each day to head out to a bike path. The kitchen was a treat and delight to cook in - the gas grill a huge bonus if grilling is your preference. If your family needs lots of activites you will have to drive a bit. We are familiar with the cape and spent a day at Mayflower Beach in Denis and one afternoon at Old Silver Beach. Mashpee Commons was a treat and gave us the chance to roam around the shops without having to drive too far. If you like to golf the area has several courses to choose from. Owner Denise could not have been more helpful and responsive when we had questions. If a relaxing vacation is what you are looking for this is the place for you!

A Place to Relax

  • 5 of 5
The Sanctuaty was exactly what my family was looking for this summer. It was a perfect retreat to calm down and enjoy the peace and qiuiet that the cape has to offer. The house was spacious and very clean and we all were able to find a place to be alone whether it was outside on one of the porches, in our bedroom or in one of the other rooms. The kitchen was wonderfully supplied with gourmet utensils and pots and the owner provided a full range of spices and other cooking needs in the pantry. the owner also supplied soaps, shampoos and soft towels. The beach was a mile away and there was never a problem of it being too crowded. The state beach costs seven dollars a day which was fine for us. The town beach requires a pass for the week which costs fifty dollars. We enjoyed visiting Martha's Vineyard, Hyannisport, Falmouth, and Providence, which were all close by. We ate at some delicious restaurants in the Masphee commons, one especially called Asia, a Thai restaurant. My family enjoyed this vacation very much, however, it is probably not great for families with teens since activities are limited as opposed to other beach towns. There isn't really much night life or boardwalks for kids. It is also good for families with young children because the house supplies ample space a play ground and beaches are very clean and quiet. You can just visit the beach and enjoy the house cooking in a beautiful kitchen or explore
the surroundings, either way a pleasant experience. We will definitely return again to the Sanctuary when we visits the cape again.

Activity and Interests

Step out the back door of the kitchen to another customized mahogany deck with beautiful built in flower boxes and benches. To your right a wooded playground set with see/saw for your children, to your left a hot tub on a beautiful stone patio that seats 5 comfortably looking out over the landscape lawn. Further back on the property is a secluded fire pit area surrounded by Adirondack chairs. you get the sense on this property that you are out in the woods in your own cabin, especially by the fire pit. Serendipity is a word used to describe this property ( when something wonderfully unexpected happens). From the many birds on the property, to the wild life walking through and to all of natures sounds. This may just be the place your soul has been searching for if you just allow your self to let go, be still and just be. All of a sudden you find peace.
