House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 6 Sleeps

On the west side of Cayuga Lake, this cottage is nestled in the heart of wine country. Our 40+ mile long lake has great fishing and boating as well as many other opportunities to enjoy this beautiful area of the Finger lakes. Ceramic tiled floors downstairs and carpeting upstairs provide comfort. This cottage is only 6 years old and has 98 feet of lakefront, shallow beachfront and ample parking for day guests on the private parking area adjacent to the property. A gradual stone path leads from the road to the house with only a few stairs down to the deck and provide ease of access to the water. This unique setting provides panoramic views of historic Sheldrake and Wyers Point with no neighbors to the south and a cliffside view, thus the name 'Cliffside at Wyers Point.

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time at the cottage. The weather was wonderful even thought it was middle of October, we went for long walks and enjoyed fall colours immensly.
The cottage has everything you might need, we were able to cook our own meals and felt like home. It's very beautiful and peaceful place. Communication with Marjorie was smooth, everything was taken care of before our arrival. We brought wiht us guests from Europe and they are alredy planning another visit!

Great Place For Families

We had a great time staying at this lovely cottage. The owner was super friendly and did her best to make us at home. The pictures on this website do not do the cottage justice. On the night of our arrival, we sat on the balcony outside the master bedroom listening to the lapping waves of the lake and observing occasional fireworks. Each night, the waves lulled us to sleep. The cottage has an open, homey feel but is also clean and elegant. During the days, my children enjoyed playing in the lake and using the paddle boat, which the owners thoughtfully provided. And it was OK to let the kids make noise! There are breath taking waterfalls all over the area, and just down the road is the award-winning Lucas Winery. In short, there is something here for everyone in the family.

We loved this vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I enjoy sailing and kayaking. We have a small sailboat that we can put on a trailer and take with us on vacations. We have been wanting to explore the Finger Lakes for some time - especially Lake Cayuga. We were thrilled to find a free week at Cliffside at Wyers Point from a web search. From the online description, it seemed to have everything we were looking for and more. The house was perfect for us. From a launch point less than a mile away, we were able to sail our boat to Wyers Point and keep it on a mooring ball right in front of the house. The house is fully furnished and ready to move in. There was a lovely gift basked waiting for us when we arrived. From 3 sides of the house you see Lake Cayuga - from both floors! It is breathtaking to watch how the lake changes throughout the day. In addition to sailing and kayaking, we like to cook. Not only is the kitchen fully equipped to cook or grill, but we could enjoy the scenery while we were preparing our meals and dining. We also loved the area and strongly recommend checking out the local wineries, and taking a drive to Waterloo. We especially enjoyed the American Civil War Memorial on the edge of the town of Waterloo next to the canals. Anyone visiting the area should check out the phenomenal work of artist Pietro del Fabro who designed and installed this beautiful memorial. You will find it very moving and tasteful. We also learned that Waterloo is the Home of Memorial Day! Please put Lake Cayuga on your Bucket List and try to book a week at Cliffside at Wyers Point. You will love it!

Beautiful location and Wonderful Owners

  • 5 of 5
Our family spent Thanksgiving in the beautiful Cliffside lake house. Although the area was experiencing a cold snap and it was snowing outside, the house was warm and comfortable inside. The gas fireplace heated the living room area very effectively and each room was equipped with its own portable heater which kept us cozy. Our family had a wonderful white Thanksgiving vacation in the cottage and the views were fantastic through every window. The owners were wonderful and very helpful as we prepared for our visit. Everything they provided in the house enhanced the experience, from cooking Thanksgiving dinner to playing games after dinner by the fire place we had a great time. During the day we took walks around the lake area and we have some great snow scene photos. it is a perfect place to spend winter vacation for folks from Florida.

Cliffside - a tiny piece of Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5
Cliffside is a little "heaven on Earth". The view from all windows looks out onto the lake. With a window open, you can hear the waves lapping up onto the shore. The stars and sunrise can be seen while laying in bed. The couch and oversized chair are quite comfortable in the living area. If you are a "nature lover", the lake, waterfowl, and trees all around the lake will bring a smile to your face. Within 20 minutes of driving you can get to any store, business or service you may need. Our visit included many wineries, Sauders, apple & pumpkin picking, Cornell Ornithology Lab & Visitors Center, dinner with Cornell students, Waterloo Outlets, shops in Auburn, Seneca Falls, Taughannock Falls, and visiting artist studios during the Ithaca Art Trail Festival. Our daughter is in her 3rd year at NY Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls and visiting with her was wonderful. Cliffside provided her with a mini-vacation away from classroom walls, textbooks and lab smells! A campfire on the beach was complete with a shooting star. Plenty of fish were seen jumping and a few seen next to the dock. Unfortunately, none "jumped" onto any of our bait or lures. Margie and Greg were gracious and prompt in any/all of our correspondence. We have already put in a request to return in 2014.

We loved the balcony off the master bedroom and we love watching the fish in the water from up above. The sun rises and star gazing are incredible.

From the Owner

On the water with no steep staircases to get down to the water. A gradual footpath leads you to the front door with just a few steps down to the front porch. The south side is without neighbors and is very private. Close to wineries and restaurants, a public boat launch and coffee shop (The Busy Bee) where you can rent kayaks and have gourmet coffee/lattes.
