House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 6 Sleeps

This truly stunning house is centrally located in an excellent neighborhood and is truly the perfect spot for Jazz Fest, getting to the French Quarter, the Museum of Art, Cafe Degas and many other great attractions in the city. The fairgrounds are literally in the backyard and the place is a quick 5 minute drive over to the French Quarter. There are three bedrooms and 2 baths here, a large kitchen (no stove though), a kitchenette area, 2 living rooms, a reading room and a even a basic weight room. This listing is for the entire downstairs, about 2500 square feet with a private, separate entrance from the upstairs.

The owner, Bill, in is one of the city's most talented interior designers as pictures might hint at, and staying here in person is really a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Bill helped me decorate my house on a major budget (see 'City Park, 7 Min to French Qtr., SAFE GREAT AREA!!') so I'm returning the favor by helping him rent his downstairs out for some additional income to help maintain this historic home in its pristine condition. He will stay upstairs, which is a separate unit but one of us will be there to greet you, give you keys and get you settled. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or send me a message. Thanks for your interest!

A true NOLA Experience...

  • 5 of 5
This is a truly exceptional property! It looks great, feel great & is very inviting to anyone staying here. The neighborhood is ideally situated for local dining, grocery shopping & coffee. It is also EASY to get almost anywhere in NOLA. Street is VERY quiet but narrow & parking requires some "imagination". If you like "expressive" interior design - this place is Nirvanna. Something to look @ everywhere. Comfortable but not a "Ritz Carlton" type of property. If you LOVE all that is NOLA - you'll love this place! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

FQF FIRST

We had a great experience with this property. It is exactly as described so no misconceptions. No kitchen equipment other than microwave which we knew and were ok with. Decor is entertaining and very much in keeping with NOLA style. Lots of conversation pieces!

The location was great for us. We preferred to get away from the madness when we wanted and was easy enough to get to once we learned about the street car scheduling. We used a combination of taxis and the street car depending on the mood. Love love love that you can just walk to restaurants and the great little grocery store around the corner.

The owner and agent, Mike were very accommodating, helpful and honest. Did not bother us at all that someone was on site with us.

I would recommend this property for adult travelers. Might be a challenge without a full kitchen. But that is individual too.

We will most definetly stay here again!

Amaizing house

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was amaizing there was so much to look at, it made our stay more interesting. I feel like this house was a great representation of New Orleans. Mike was easy to reach for any questions. We would love to come back in the future. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. Great rental!

Great place to stay in an excellent location

Great place to stay in an excellent location. Should consider having a rental car as getting a cab can be difficult and many places to see

Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5
My group of 6 people stayed here on the night of 10/12 & 10/13. We loved this house! It was lovely inside & out. You can sure loose track of time if you sit in a room and just marvel all the unique decorations that are covered from floor to ceiling. Really fun/cool vibe. My only complaint is that the 3 BR's do NOT have a ceiling fan. (I usually need one to fall asleep) With that being said I was still able to fall asleep just fine with out. The AC works great and blows very cold!! I really appreciated the large supply of towels. Each room had a nice stack on each bed & there was still plenty in the bathrooms as well (nice plus!) I highly recommend this property to anyone! I wouldn't say its "kid friendly" though. To many things a child could break (I'd be a nervous wreck having my kids here. lol). WARNING-- Its very difficult to get a cab to/from anywhere. I would call 2-3 places each time we needed a cab, it was always a min wait of 30 mins before they could pick us up & half the time the cab didn't even show up...For our group of 6 we paid $70+ for airport transfer & a min of $30 for one way trips to/from the FQ. If you're coming and going multiple times through out the day that adds up quick!! We spent more money on cab rides than we did on the rental to stay here. I'd still rather stay here in this nice house vs staying in a hotel thats walking distance to the FQ. This was our first trip to NOLA and if we ever returned I'd book this rental in an instant!

BEAUTIFUL STAY

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed a nice little girls weekend away. The house is just as beautiful in person as in the pictures. Mike meet us at the house and gave us a tour and gave us some ideas on things to do and see. This was a perfect location for us. We had some friends that stayed near Bourbon street, so it was nice to come home and to be away from all the hustle and bustle, and enjoy the peace and quite in the Esplanade Ridge neighborhood. It was nice to arrive get settled in and start exploring this beautiful area. There are plenty of nice cafes and restaurants in walking distance. The cemetery around the corner was beautiful. The City Park was gorgeous to take a walk around. We even did the paddle boats and bike ride around the lake. You also have the Museum of Art right there, which we did not get a chance to do, admissions is $10. You can catch the street car, which is $1.25 to ride or just pay $3 for 24hrs. It runs till about 2am i believe. Cab fare to bourbon street was about $12 each way, so street car would be best. If you rent a car, there was always a spot to park right in front of the house. Definitely would love to come back. Thank you Bill and Mike!
