About the Owner

I am a retired home designer/builder who loves to share. I once owned a magnificent houseboat on Lake Powell that I designed and shared with friends and family. I named the boat Amnesia with the goal of making my guest forget about everything besides the natural beauty of the lake! I have named my home in Prescott Amnesia 2 for the same reasons. The original cabin was built in 1952 and was added onto by several owners that followed. I bought the home and did a complete makeover that simply makes it the best vacation rental in Prescott. I have honored the sacred land and the heart of the original owner. The ceiling is the original roof.

This cabin/house is wonderful! The way the backyard is set up gives great views as well as from the master bedroom. It feels very secluded although it is only a few miles to town. We are two young couples that came up on New Year's Eve to get away from the city and it was just perfect. It snowed for the better part of the day and it just made the mountains even prettier to look at as the sun went down. Everything you need is right there and the fenced backyard is pretty big. Being snowed in on New Year's Eve made it feel very cozy. If you enjoy a rustic feel with modern amenities you will love this place. Diana was very helpful and made herself available with any questions. Can't wait to come back!

Coming Back Home!

  • 5 of 5
Having lived in Prescott in the past, we knew this was the part of town we wanted to rent a place for our sons and their wives, close to downtown AND to beautiful Thumb Butte with its lovely scenery and hiking trails. They were there four nights, during a very a mild winter week. It's as beautiful as it looks in the photos (contact the owner/agent for additional photos and video tour). The pool table is really a fun addition. The kitchen is excellently equipped with everything you might want and more. Arriving during daylight hours with a GPS makes it easier to find; it might be tricky in the dark. (Dirt road is really short). The other two 5 star reviews say it all. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again!
Restaurant recommendations: we love Bill's Pizza (amazing pizza!), and Bill's Grill (burgers and more). If you like Indian food, Taj Mahal is one of the best in Arizona. For breakfast try the Dinner Bell, or Lone Spur.

Fantastic place!

  • 5 of 5
This was my first time using the site and traveling to Prescott for a weekend getaway. The owner was very quick with responses and availability on the property. Answered all questions and sent me a virtual tour of the property to make sure it would fit our needs for our stay. Upon arriving we were in heaven. What a great place! Very quiet with spectacular views. Close to several great hiking spots, minutes from downtown whiskey row for shopping and dining. Great location, wonderful house....we will definitely stay here again.

Healing in the Vortex

  • 5 of 5
The property is a nicely designed re-interpretation of the log-cabin. It is clean and well-maintained with high ceilings, nice architectural features, beautiful ceiling fans and best of all, you are surrounded by peace, quiet and tranquility. The granite rocks behind the house, jutting up out of the earth, are a physical expression of the earth energy that is palpable here, whether you are reclining inside or meditating on the rocks. The house is an extension of nature itself. After a leisurely day, shopping and dining in Old Town Prescott, we were pleasantly surprised to encounter a troop of 9 Javelinas grazing on the hillside near the house. We highly recommend this property for your next Southwest vacation destination.

Unique Property with Special Charm

  • 4 of 5
Let us start by saying that the pictures really do not do this property justice. Although the property is not large, it is perfect for a couple. Since there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a small family, or with the futon a couple additional friends, can be comfortably accommodated. The space is designer cabin. The bare split wood baseboards and door jams are nothing short of stunning as are the natural wood shelving and furniture pieces, especially the custom pool table. There are many comfortable private areas to enjoy a intimate conversation or private contemplation. You are conveniently located just minutes from both the town square and the Thumb Butte hiking area, yet you feel like you are in the woods. The distant views are stunning and the backyard is a private oasis. As if this isn't enough to recommend this rental, you also get and attentive, and caring person managing the property. Diane is an absolute gem, just like this property. She makes herself available without being intrusive and her positive energy only added to our experience.
