La Casa Venus is a newly renovated two story home in the popular colonial of Santiago. La Casa Venus is located on a quiet street just a few minutes' walk from Santiago Park and ten minutes walking distance to Merida's central city park. Being close to Merida Central's many restuarants and shops makes La Casa Venus an ideal location for travelers.
As you enter La Casa Venus you are taken back in time by the high ceilings and richly covered pasta tiled floors. The large front foyer leads to an eat-in kitchen with beautiful tiled counters and built-in six burner gas stove top. The kitchen has table and chairs for six, a hutch buffet, large fridge, toaster, coffee maker, microwave and electric oven. The kitchen comes complete with cooking utensils and place settings.
The main floor also includes two spacious air-conditioned fully furnished bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other with a king sized bed. The main floor bath has a large walk-in shower.
The outside private courtyard has seating for six and another two place seating just off the kitchen. A beautiful spiral staircase leads from the courtyard to the second story sun deck.
From the front foyer you follow the rot-iron staircase to the upper foyer which includes a day bed. The large furnished air-conditioned master bedroom has a queen sized bed and on suite bath with his and her sinks and a large walk-in shower. You have access to the second story sun deck from the master bedroom or upper foyer.
The sun deck has spacious seating for eight and includes a Jacuzzi plunge pool with filter system. The second story sun deck is the ideal place to tan or enjoy the stars at night.
Santiago is one of the oldest colonials of Merida. The church was founded in 1637. In front of the church is a park and a market beside it. Fresh flowers,vegtables and meats can be found in the market as well as cocina economicas with local cousine. Surrounding the park you can find a drugstore, grocery store, movie theatre, pawn shop and Flor de Santiago, a cafe/bakery restuarant. The Park has a childrens playground and on Tuesday nights host live Big Band music, which is free to watch or participate in.
A short walk takes you to Merida's center which is bursting with shops, restuarants, theatres, and free attractions.
