This cozy southwestern style tiled roof home is a non smoking, pet free environment. It features 3 bedrooms.The large master bedroom has a flat screen cable TV, shower, tub, double sinks and a large walk-in closet. Each bedroom has a newer queen size bedroom set. If you wish to share your vacation with family with small children, just ask. We can make available a crib and/or a junior bed,a few childrens' toys, a booster seat, 2 sizes of car seats,a small child's table and chair,a stroller and a kiddie pool.There is also a full size blow up mattress if you ask. From the sliding glass door exiting the dining area, you will find a comfortable glass topped patio table and 4 chairs under a covered patio. There is a southwestern style cement block fence to provide a safe play area for your grandchildren. The easy care graveled yard boasts several desert flowering bushes. A 900 sq ft circular putting green has recently been installed in the backyard. The teak wood dining table seats 6. There are granite countertops and stainless steel appliances which include an electric glass top stove and oven, new microwave, new double doored frig and a dishwasher. Also furnished for your cooking use are dishes and cutlery for 8, frying pans, large stove-top pot, baking sheet, toaster, coffee maker, blender, hand mixer, microwaveable glass bowls and an electric grill for the patio. The patio has a table and four chairs for outside dining and relaxing, and a 2 burner propane barbeque grill. The second bathroom, with shower and tub, is located near the second and third bedrooms. Linens are also provided. In the livingroom there is a large faux suede wrap around couch,a large flat screen TV, a comfortable recliner, and a small desk which will be convenient for your own laptop computer. There is also an HP printer which you can attach to your own laptop. For long distance, if you don't have a cell phone,we would suggest that you expend in a Magic Jack phone which plugs into your own Laptop. They are about $20 a year and are great for long distance anywhere in Canada or the US unlimited. There is also a router installed for a WIFI connection for your iphone or Droid cell.
The landscaped backyard has a 900 sq ft Putting Green. There are putters and golf balls in the hall closet. There is a set of Golf Clubs in the garage.
We also own a winter home, on the same side of the street, a few homes away. I enjoy gardening and learning about the various desert plants. My favourite trees are the palms. This home has a Date Palm in the front yard and a Mediterrean Palm in the back yard. A neighbour's lemon tree hangs over our cement block fence in the back yard. We have several Agave plants, some red Bourgenvillas, purple Sage bushes and a couple pink Oilander bushes. I recently planted a Parry's Agave and a couple Totum Cactus ( no prickly needles) in the front yard.
Our permanent home is in BC, Canada where we live in the Gulf Islands. Our property manager, Andrea Bidwell, lives here in the Parkwood Ranch Community and is available to help our clients when we are away. Andrea is a school nurse and a trained EMT. She is very responsible and helpful. We have made friends with many of our clients and enjoy inviting them over for supper or Euchre if they are not too busy with their own social schedule.
“Our property is clean,comfortable and updated. The laundry is set up in the garage as is the style in the Southwest. The home easily accommodates two couples or extended family who want to visit for a couple weeks with grandchildren. There is lots of room with it's ample closets and drawers in the Captain style Queen size beds. If you plan to cook, the kitchen has many utensils, pots, a ceramic slow cooker, a blender and roasting pans, Corning ware and an air bake cookie sheet. It is close to a variety of shopping modes and restaurants. We enjoy going to Valley Liquidator Sales, Art Festivals, Dog Shows, Bird Shows, Garden Shows, and Car Shows. The 900 sq ft back yard Putting Green provides practice for golfers and entertainment for patio parties. My husband goes to the local Legions to play Euchre twice a week and enjoy a pint. I enjoy walking in the neighborhood where I can try to identify many different kinds of desert landscaping. Being a Snowbird myself, I often walk in the cool of the evening and feel quite safe. Neighbours are friendly in our quiet neighbourhood. One of our regular clients enjoys going to the local Shooting Range. Others spend their time at many local Golf Courses. There are churches, and parks with playground equipment for grandchildren nearby. Some of our clients have enjoyed the local Square Dancing and Bingo. We are not far from Superstition Mt if you are into Hiking. There are 2 bicycles if you would like to cycle. There is also a set of men's golf clubs in the garage. There is an automatic garage door opener and an ADT security system for your comfort.”
This cozy home is located in Mesa in the Parkwood Ranch subdivision within minutes of Hwy 60 and 202. We are 30 minutes from Sky Harbor Airport by vehicle.Gateway Airport is 20 minutes away.. Close major crossroads are Southern Ave.and Signal Butte. From Signal Butte you can see the Superstition Mts. It is only a short distance to Apache Junction and Goldfield Ghost Town & Mining Camp. If you continue on a few miles through Tonto National Park you will reach to Canyon Lake where sightseers can enjoy a 90 minute steamboat ride around a 10 mile long desert lake. The tour guides provide entertaining tales of the desert plants and animals seen on the cliffs. It's about $19 for seniors. Take senior ID. Fishing boats can be rented there. A 5 minute drive from Florian Ave. brings you to the Apache Junction American Legion which offers tasty inexpensive meals to card holding Legion members from the US and Canada.e.g. Friday Night Fish Fry for $9.50. Remember to bring your Legion membership ID card. There is also live music and dancing there. Another attraction within minutes away is the Mesa Market Place and Swap Meet. This huge covered market on Baseline Road near Signal Butte offers 1600 booths selling everything imaginable from fine jewelery to Mexican artifacts at reasonable prices. This 3 day weekend market attracts both tour buses and locals. It's great exercise just walking the aisles. There are 2 other swap meets with 'older treasures' on Apache trail. On Thursday mornigns there is a lovely craft/swap meet on Ellsworth at a RV park near the hwy 60 turn off. Lots of jewellery,purses,fresh veggies, potions, crafts, clothing, gems. There are numerous golf courses within a short drive. Our Parkwood Ranch HOA has a playground and park within a short walk from the house. Restaurants and shopping abound in the nearby mall areas. Hobby Lobby craft store is in the strip mall behind the home, along with a Dollar Store, Nails, Little Caesars, Hair Salon, and 3 Restaurants. Phoenix hosts NASCAR and Baseball spring training events. There are several dog shows held at Cortez Park and the Arizona State Fairgrounds during the winter months. The Phoenix Zoo is rated as the fifth best in the world. Across the road from the zoo is the Desert Botanical Gardens featuring desert plants and butterflies. The second Tuesday of each month is free from noon to 4 pm. The Mesa Museum is an inexpensive way to learn desert history. Every 1st Sunday of the month is free from 10-4 pm. Many people come to enjoy the car auctions and shows. There are many trails to walk, and cycling is popular on the paved roads leading into Apache Junction from Hwy 87. If you are a Canadian snowbird,you will be happy to know that groceries seem to be cheaper, fresh fruit and vegetables are abundant, restaurants are definitely cheaper, and then there is the variety when clothes shopping ! We will be happy to share our knowledge of the area and steer you to great inexpensive restaurants such as Fat Willy's Sports Bar on Baseline on Monday night for their $6 burgers when bought with a beverage or the Red Mountain Cafe on University where their fish is outstanding and reasonable ($10.50 with salad,veggies) or Golden China where lunch is $3.75 ...yes ! or the Golden Corral on Power Rd..all you can eat lunch for seniors is about $15 with a beverage. Come on down to AZ ! You know what they say here...'You don't have to shovel sunshine !'

This Parkwood Ranch home is rented only by the month for $2100 a month. Utilities are included. There is a $100 non refundable cleaning fee. The rent money is due 30 days prior to your arrival date. A $500 security and damage deposit is required to secure your reservation which will be refunded in full if the home is left undamaged and the lease terms are not violated.
