The Red House is a restored old Maine cottage located in the heart of Acadia National Park and less than 3 miles from the quaint village of Bar Harbor.
Our family purchased this property while vacationing at Acadia National Park (prior listing # 9673). We fell in love with the area, the location of this property and the home itself. It is near two different park loop entrances, where you can hike, climb mountains, enjoy the sand beach, visit Jordan Pond or sit on the rocky outcroppings, enjoy the crashing surf and ponder. We also loved going to Bar Harbor and browsing through all the quaint little shops (there is something for everyone) as well as eating at the varied restaurants they have. The cottage is roomy but cozy at the same time and the back deck and porch have an amazing view of Gorham Mountain. We can't decide if the sunrise behind the mountain or the illuminated mountain face at sunset is more amazing. Did we mention the dazzling array of stars to be seen while sitting on the back porch at night? We invite you to enjoy our home and the area!
Feel free to check availability on our other Mount Desert Island rental property #117272.
