Dear Jerry,

I just wanted to thank you for sharing your lovely house with us recently and

also for returning our security deposit so promptly. Your house is beautifully designed and furnished -- and everything has been thought of for the comfort of the guests. We especially enjoyed the spectacular views from your Adirondack chairs out on the lawn, your beautiful garden, and the fact that we could basically step out the front door and into the park next door.

Villa di Giulietta is clearly a labor of love, set in that jewel of a town,

Santa Barbara.

Thanks again!

Everything has been thought of

A superb villa. Everything inside has been thought of. Jerry even recorded the soccer World Cup for us so we could watch it on our arrival. Outside, there are beautiful views from the back of the villa across the garden to the hills of Rattlesnake Canyon. The backyard itself has a lovely garden, watered automatically early each morning to keep it looking lush and green. We also made good use of the fine BBQ. Taking a short walk up the footpath at the end of the street you can see far and wide, including the distant Channel Islands out at sea. A great place to stay.

Owner's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the house and surrounding area so much and that you were able to watch the World Cup. It was quite an exciting match and I didn't want you to miss it because of travel. Have a great visit here in the US and a safe trip back home to the UK. Come back and enjoy a $100 discount off your return stay at Villa di Giulietta. Enjoy the photography book and wine! Cheers, Jerry.

Quiet Retreat

  • 5 of 5
We are 6 high school friends that have taken a yearly trip for the past 10 years
(1960 grads) This was a perfect venue to rest and relax after enjoying the sights and sounds of Santa Barbara. Perfect location !! Kitchen to die for !
Comfortable sleeping accomodations for 6 to 8 vacationers. We enjoyed the well manicured back yard overlooking Santa Barbara lights and hiking in the neaby park to watch the hang gliders. Highly recommend this vacation retreat

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5
My friends and I were here for our annual getaway to the SB Film festival. The house was in a perfect location to get downtown while still being close to the beach. It was wonderful to sit on the patio with a glass of wine discussing the films and taking in the breathtaking view of Santa Barbara and the mountains beyond. Everything in the house is new and it is very nicely decorated. Walked to the top of Elings Park in the morning with my coffee to gaze at the Channel Islands. We can't wait to come back!

Owner's Response: Hi Julie:

I'm so glad you and your friends enjoyed your time here. The Film Festival is just one of the many events to frequent here in Santa Barbara, as if you need a reason to come here! And now you know that pictures do not give the view the justice it deserves. Come back soon!

Location

Activity and Interests

Come to Santa Barbara just once and discover its magic... unlike anywhere else on Earth, a unique feeling that's more than wine and arts, more than sunshine and the crisp air off the Pacific, more than amazing food and natural beauty. Santa Barbara is all of these things wrapped into the richness of a big city with the feel of a small town, a unique way of life that's both sophisticated and simple, refined and relaxed, the culture of Europe meets the spirit of the West Coast in what can only be described as 'the American Riviera.' Seeing is believing, and once you see what Santa Barbara's all about, you'll be hooked forever! Foodies sip and savor their way through Santa Barbara year-round and film buffs delve into our deep ties to cinema during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Visitors delight in our Spanish-influenced architecture and the diversity of our arts and culture, including the Santa Barbara Mission, the city Musuem, the city Zoo, the Santa Barbara Opera, musical performances at the Santa Barbara Bowl, and the weekly arts & crafts fair on the beach. And those who would prefer to leave the car in park and explore Santa Barbara by foot, train, water taxi, trolley, or bike will want to learn more about family-friendly ways to travel to and in Santa Barbara car free. But more than its attraction for any one interest, Santa Barbara creates the space and spirit to relax and explore, ever casual and always comfortable. Take a break from the ordinary, leave the world behind and plan a visit today!

Notes:

  • Who wants to stay in an old, tired property? Nobody! That's why we completely remodeled the house and included new furniture, new linens, and new kitchenware for our guests. Come escape from it all to Santa Barbara! We are just steps from hiking trails and parasailing, 5 minutes from the beach, downtown Santa Barbara and State Street, and less than 10 minutes to the marina, wine tasting, the Zoo and the Stearns Wharf. It is a short drive to Lake Cachuma, the Danish village of Solvang, or more wine tasting in the Santa Ynez region from our ideal location. The Santa Barbara Film Festival, Opera, concerts, Museums, Food festivals, Arts and Crafts fairs, Polo matches, antique shopping and more await you!
