Unit G-201. Beautiful, recently renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo on Sanibel Island on the Gulf Coast of southern Florida. Our unit is in the closest building to the awesome, private stretch of Bowman's Beach in Blind Pass Condominiums, which is located on a secluded, natural beach with great shelling, fine white sand, tropical water and vistas, and stunning sunsets. It is an end unit on the 2nd floor and sleeps 6. The one-floor layout consists of a great room with dining area and living room with sleeper sofa, 2 love seats, and large flat screen TV. Bedrooms on either side of the great room each have a ceiling fan. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, large walk-in closet, and bathroom with tub/shower. The spacious guest room contains two double beds and walk-in closet with a full bathroom across the hallway. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd want (except food, beer, wine, & booze) plus an additional pantry to store your food and supplies. There is a kitchen ceiling fan, dishwasher, and all customary large and small appliances as well as table settings for eight or more. The condo has a full-size washer and dryer, 3 flat screen TVs, DVD player, cable TV, Wii, iPod speaker dock, WiFi, phone with free calling within continental US, lots of DVD movies, books, games, 6 beach chairs, beach cart, tennis rackets, bocce balls, snorkeling gear, beach blankets, umbrellas, and other beach gear, pack 'n play (portable playpen), high chair booster seat, stroller, etc. Blind Pass is the northernmost condo complex on Sanibel with convenient proximity to Captiva Island.

Owners, Steve & Linda, live in the suburbs south of Philadelphia and our two children are currently going to college. We personally use the condo about four weeks a year while we work and otherwise vacation the remaining weeks.

Wonderful, well-equipped condo

We just returned from a fantastic stay at this condo. I would recommend this condo to anyone, without hesitation. There were just three of us, so there was more than enough room, but there is ample space for 6 people to stay here comfortably. As the owners describe, the condo has a lovely feel and everything is fresh and updated.

We lacked for nothing during our stay and the kitchen had every possible thing we could need. We even found a cocktail shaker so my husband could make me martinis (no martini glasses but the wine glasses worked just as well.) I loved having the washer and dryer in the unit so that we could stay on top of wet bathing suits and we didn't bring quite as much washing home with us!

The beach chairs, beach wagon, various coolers, beach toys, shelling nets and tennis rackets stored in the condo closets made it very easy to get out and enjoy all that Blind Pass had to offer. Despite the closets being filled with all of these great items there was plenty of room for to us to hang any clothes that weren't being stored in the ample dressers.

The three televisions were great to have but honestly, we watched very little tv. Most evenings after dinner we ended up at the dining room table playing games. We brought a few of our own, but it was fun to see what else was provided in the game closet at the condo. The couches were very comfortable, the beds and pillows were comfortable and the entire layout was just great.

The beach was absolutely gorgeous and the short walk was a pretty one. Being in the building closest to the beach path was definitely a huge plus. We saw stunning sunsets and saw dolphins swimming off shore on three different days. We took advantage of the pool most days and played tennis a couple of times. We never used the Weber gas grills that are on the condo grounds, but they looked great and not too far of a distance from the unit.

Check-in and check-out were both very easy and the staff in the office were very pleasant. Even for a busy week, the entire complex had a serene feel to it and I felt very at home and safe. We rented bikes for the week and they were already in our carport when we arrived. The rental company didn't provide a lock as they were supposed to so we left our bikes unlocked the entire time and I never felt nervous that the bikes wouldn't be there in the morning.

Thanks for sharing this little piece of paradise with us. We hope to return in the future.

Blind Pass rates the units in their rental program (107 units in the complex) like a report card (A, B, C...) and ours is rated as an A unit. We had great contractor do very substantial renovations that make it feel like a brand new, up-to-date, spacious, comfortable vacation home and he did a tremendous job ! Blind Pass is unique in many ways; it is secluded from all of the other condos and commercial development making it a very private and quiet setting. The tropical and meticulously maintained landscaping gives Blind Pass a relaxed and almost Caribbean feel. The amenities are numerous including the incredible beach, heated pool, five gas grills, two tennis courts, canoeing & kayaking, clubhouse, etc... It is also the closest condo complex to Captiva Island just a few minute drive or easy bike ride to the north where you'll want to go for outdoor dining, a sunset sail, or any watersport you could name.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Booking fee $39 + Tax
  • Linens charge $55 + Tax
  • Tax Rate 11.0%

Payment is made by calling the Blind Pass rental office (800)852-2038 and putting up a 20% deposit or $339.00, whichever is greater. Final payment is made 30 days prior to arrival. Owner (Steve & Linda Faux) must be contacted prior to calling to book in order to receive the ten percent discount (owner needs to notify the rental office that the discount was offered to the particular renter...)

Rates listed reflect a 10% discount off the base rates established by the Blind Pass Condo Assoc. The condo owners will pay the required $90.00 cleaning fee. However, on top of the base rate, they add a $39.00 booking fee, a $55.00 linens fee, and 11% tax on that total. The two fees are applied only once for multiple weeks. There is a 7 day minimum stay and rentals are from Saturday to Saturday.

  • Blind Pass Condominiums offers a large heated pool with club house, 2 tennis courts, free use of kayaks and canoes, grilling and picnic areas (5 gas grills), and a shell washing/fish cleaning station. The beautiful beach is only a 5 minute walk from our unit down a scenic sandy trail through palm trees. Wheel cart provided, all necessary beach gear, snorkling gear & tennis racquets. The beautifilly manicured grounds presents a tropical vibe.
