The owner of the condo was very kind and friendly. Great price for the condo. Condo was very neat and clean, looks exactly as it does in photos, great view of the beach. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay and relax! I will deff. be coming back.

We were very unhappy with this condo. We were travelling with small children, so we were late getting there. Check-in time was 3:00, but we arrived around 6:00. We had all of our luggage unloaded and up the elevator when we found we could not get in! The cleaning lady was not finished and would not let us in. We ended up waiting, with a one year old and a four year old, with all of our belongings in the hallway for almost an hour. I called the owner and he said this had never happened before. The cleaning lady said the laundry room door was broken and someone would be back to fix it--no one ever did. As we came in we noticed a very foul smell that we assumed was sulfur water. The smell never went away. When we tried to use the dryer it made a tremendous squeaking noise and took 2 hours to dry our clothes. The owner said someone would fix it. They did the day before we left. The microwave broke and it took over a day to get it replaced. The day we left the elevator broke and we had to use the stairs to take all of our luggage down. I then get a notice from the owner that we weren't getting our deposit back. He said there were "complaints" from the homeowners association about smoking. We had a baby with asthma so there was absolutely no smoking. He also said we were over capacity--which we weren't. When I asked to see these complaints in writing from the association, he kept putting me off. Needless to say, after 4 months he would not cooperate and we never got our deposit back. I would strongly recommend that you NOT rent this particular condo.

Owner's Response: We make it our aim that every family who rents our unit has a great experience and returns year after year. And this hope is a reality for nearly everyone who chooses to stay with us. While rare, things happen unexpectedly and are often beyond the individual owner’s control, such as unresponsive elevators and the smell of Florida water. Be assured that these issues are and were addressed quickly by the homeowners association, as are all issues that impact the community of Pelican Walk.

The furnishings and appliances within the unit are routinely repaired and replaced, and any issues that arise during a tenants stay are addressed as soon as possible.

The withholding of the security deposit in this instance should serve as proof of our desire to provide a high quality and clean getaway experience for families. The bulk of the forfeited deposit went directly to the housekeepers who encountered a mountain of trash and spent hours cleaning the mess left behind in order to prepare the unit for the next family. While the reviewer above will not be returning, the family who came after them is certain to do so.


Activity and Interests

Pelican Walk is only minutes away from all area restaurants and attractions, golf, fishing, diving, miniature golf, amusement parks and zoo. Located on the quite end of Thomas drive close to everything and right on the beach.
