The cabin sits on a ridge overlooking scenic meadows and creeks with adjacent strolling paths and cottage flower gardens. Come and relax in front of the fireplace or in our rocking chairs on the covered porch and experience the peace and tranquility of Laurel Brook Ridge. You won’t be sorry as we have many repeat customers who have become beloved friends.
The cabin has an open layout with an easy road access, as well as easy entry into the cabin with only three steps. The master bedroom has a king size bed with an on-suite bathroom, the guest bedroom has twin beds, and the sofa is a sleeper. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes dishwasher, microwave, toaster, Mr. Coffee, blender, waffle iron. Towels and linens are provided. All you need to bring is tolietries, groceries and paper products.
This is a no smoking cabin; smoking on porches only. We are one pet friendly.
Hiking in the Nantahala Forest, Appalachian Trail, Backpacking, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest (magnificent), Joyce Kilmer-Slickrock Wilderness, Cherohala Skyway (awesome), Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking in the Nantahala or Ocoee Rivers, Mountain Biking, ATV Rentals, Tubing at Fires Creek, Swimming and picnicking at Hanging Dog and Potete Park (GA), picnicking at Cherokee Lake Park, Shopping and Antiquing in the flea markets and many craft shops in the area, Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino, (Harrah’s Casino coming to Murphy in Fall of 2013); Blue Ridge Parkway, Hiwassee Dam, Fontana Dam, Lakes Nottely and Hiwassee provide fishing and boating (pontoon boat rentals too) along with numerous rivers and trout streams, Gem Mining, Waterfalls(you don't want to miss these), and more. Many of the roads that take you to your destinations are also designated as NC Scenic Byways.
There are many golf courses, and tubing, swimming, horseback riding and much more to enjoy while you are here. There is Alpine Village in Helen, Ga., John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad in Blue Ridge, Ga., Merciers Apple Market in Blue Ridge, Ga., Fields of the Wood Biblical Park just down the road from the cabin, plus flea markets and our quaint downtown with 50's style movie theater and local shops and eateries.
