This is it – look no further! Our home is a wonderful example of historic downtown Phoenix. We welcome you to enjoy the comfort of our fully equipped historic beautiful single-family home in one of the nicest historic districts of downtown Phoenix. Built in 1944 with all the modern touches of home, our vacation home is fully revamped. The house alone is 1,600 sq ft., with an additional 400 sq ft guest house.

Our home is on a large, well-maintained 9,854 sq ft lot with luscious mature trees in the front yard, and beautiful desert landscaping in the back yard. There are three furnished spacious bedrooms, private yet open floor plan. The Arizona bedroom wouldn't be complete without the three sets of French doors leading to the patio and outdoor lap pool.

The outdoor pool deck/patio is perfect for relaxing, morning coffee, barbecues or lounging out by the luscious sparkling lap pool. The guest house acts as the perfect hide away studio or accommodations for visitors or in-laws!

Prime Location

I am an AZ local but live on the out skirts of Phoenix, when my family came into town we decided to rent a home closer to the action. Chase, the owner was wonderful with quickly responding to my last minute inquiry.
The location is in a beautiful area right in the heart of great local restaurants, bars and a quick Light Rail ride to the Diamondbacks Field and Phoenix Suns Arena. The home itself is an older property near a historic area but is beautifully maintained and has been upgraded. The kitchen was supplied with the basic essentials. which was great for cooking. There are 3 rooms with comfy beds and two nice sized bathrooms that accommodated 4 adults and 2 pre-teens nicely. The home also has a private lap pool which is perfect for Arizona weather.
Overall I was very pleased and lucky to have found this gem.

Nice, Clean, Private, PERFECT!

I booked this location for an R&R vacation with my girlfriend for a week. Chase (property owner) was great in communicating and responding to my questions. He was also very accommodating (ie: bringing a hair dryer for us to use, coming over to assist with questions about the locks, and allowing us to store our bags after checkout due to a late flight).

The house itself has been kept up to date with nice appliances and is obviously well maintained. Wireless internet allowed us to keep in touch and stream movies at night. The lap pool in back isn't heated but was the ideal temperature for our stay in late March. It was the perfect size for the 2 of us to relax and soak up some sun, and the fences around the property provided total privacy. The "Mother-in-law apartment" in the back has 2 single beds, a kitchenette, and a nice 3/4 bathroom. It is "studio apartment" style, so more ideal for kids.

The property is located less than a block from the Light Rail platform at Central & Camelback. We were able to take the train directly from the airport to the property for $2 per person. We could not hear the trains from the house, and it was so convenient to hop on and take the train into downtown Phoenix and the ASU campus (all-day passes are $4 per person). It saved us from having to rent a car, which meant more spending money from the vacation budget. There are also many things available within a few block walk (Grocery store, Drug store, numerous restaurants and a few bars). We definitely recommend the "Southern Rail" restaurant which is only 1 block away. Best Sazerac I've ever had, and the food is gourmet quality. There is also an Applebees within a block for those is you who are less adventurous.

While it did not detract from our enjoyment, there are only a few things I could say would be nice to improve the property:
- Addition of a BBQ Grill
- Some reclining lounge chairs for the patio (currently only straight-back chairs)
- The back yard patio and pool area is fairly "barren" and could benefit from a little curb appeal; and finally,
- The glass/dishware/kitchen utensils are a bare minimum. If you plan to have more than 4 people there, you will probably run short, and if you intend to cook anything you may find yourself a bit frustrated with the lack of utensils and a good knife.

Don't let these minor things deter you though. In all, it was a wonderful experience and we hope to stay here again on our next visit.

Located just 0.3 miles from the light rail there’s so much to experience in downtown Phoenix, and within just a few miles of our home.

From the Heard Museum – the country’s leading Native American museum – to Adventure Island, an amusement park within Encanto Park that’s designed with children in mind, downtown Phoenix is a superb place to vacation.

Visit the Arizona Science Center or take in an Arizona Diamondbacks or Phoenix Sun’s game downtown. Visit the Phoenix Art Museum or one of the many downtown theater venues.

Take a morning walk to Starbuck’s or an early afternoon walk – after floating in our lap pool – for lunch at Chipotle, Five Guys or Pei Wei. Many favorite restaurants and fine dining establishments are within a few minutes walking distance of the Mariposa residence!

The residence is close to Downtown ASU, golf, shopping, the Pointe Tapatio Cliffs, close to the stadiums, the Arizona Biltmore and the Esplanade.

We are centrally located and a great place to stay if you are coming for the spring training games – or if you want to disappear off the grid to explore Sedona, the Grand Canyon, or one of the many other natural wonders. Arizona has more National Monuments than any other U.S. State! So be sure to check out one of the National Parks or Monuments that Arizona has to offer!

It's a historic house. It was built in 1946. With that being said, it has all of the modern conveniences, including hard wired Ethernet / internet access in every room, as well as WiFi across the property. We have a keyless entry / security system, so it's very simple to move in and be safe. Upon arrival, you'll receive a code to get in. Very simple.
