House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 5 Sleeps

You are sitting at the side of the pool, with a cup of coffee as the first rays of sunlight kiss the top of majestic Mount San Jacinto across the valley, with your dog by your side. Your dog will enjoy running around in the enclosed yard up above the neighborhood (on the view side), free to explore. Sweeping panoramic views from the yard are visible from both bedrooms and the great room/ kitchen of this mid-cenury modern house. Sliding glass doors allow access to the pool deck from all these rooms. The architect of this custom built house loved nature and made sure that all rooms had access to the pool side. Even the bathrooms have access to the pool area. In the yard, an 'arbor' protects you from direct sun if you wish. In the master bathroom, there is even a sunken bathtub! Inside the house you will enjoy original artwork by local artists, along with a modern kitchen and spaicous living area. The Master bedroom has a queen size bed, while the other bedroom has a comfortable full size bed. The sofas are comfortable and there is also a futon bed that doubles as a sofa out on the pool deck which can be used for guests. A pool cabana is available too.

Desert Ambrosia
Desert Hot Springs California Desert
Toronto, Canada

We stayed at Desert Ambrosia in January. It was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed at in the desert. We loved relaxing on the pool deck. It has a great view. We spent more time there than anywhere else. Almost did not want to leave. The house is very cute. It is sort of modern but has some nice homey touches like hand made quilts. Beds are comfy too. The kitchen is very modern, maybe new. Very easy drive to other places in the desert. We would definitely stay here again.

Activity and Interests

Hiking from the house, visitng the local hot water mineral spas, and eating at the down home local restaurants are all things you will want to avail yourself of. Desert Hot Springs has an easy relaxed, small town feeling. The Palm Springs / Palm Desert more metropolitan areas are a short drive away with all their amenities: over 120 golf courses, excellent restaurants, casinos, shows, and world class shopping. Joshua Tree National Park is half an hour away. The Cabazon "Desert Premium Outlets" with hundreds of stores are a mere twenty minutes away. Desert Hot SPrings has one of the only QVC Home SHopping Network outlets in the world - everyone owns a "Glossy" swim suit.

  • Nightly Rate: $79 - $125

    Weekly Rate: $600 - $850

    Monthly Rate: $2150 - $2900

  • Highest high season rates apply over the Christmas - New Years holiday. From November through the end of April, high(er) season rates also apply. In lieu of a security deposit, there is a non-refundable damage insurance deposit of $89.00. If you wish to bring your dog(s), there is also a non-refundable pet fee of $100.00 per pet. Large dogs are allowed but due to insurance reasons, certain breeds are not allowed (check with owners for specifics). There is also a cleaning fee of $150.00 per visit. Although the yard is enclosed, the pool does not have addtional fencing and is very deep, so this home would be unsuitable for families with very young children. We do not rent the home out for stays of less than three days. Thanks!

  • Desert Hot Springs is famous for its ginormous hot water aquifer, one of the largest in the world. But it is really the views from this laid back desert city that make it spectacular. This house is up on a hillside, positioned perfectly to take in the natural scenic beauty. It is right at the edge of the desert so one can hike up into the hills and take advantage of the photo ops for wild desert flora and fauna. The modern kitchen features new built in appliances and granite countertops. The kitchen features a convection oven, a built-in microwave oven, coffee maker, blender and other standard kitchen utensils. As you cook, you can watch the flatscreen TV in the living room with satellite service. Wifi throughout the house will allow you to work from the home if needed. A gas fired barbeque will allow you to grill while you enjoy the blooming citrus trees in the yard. Air conditioning/ heating is available, but you may wish to use window fans during the wonderful temperate months of Spring or Fall.
