Great home base in Seattle.

This is a pretty, clean two-bedroom, very centrally located. Our children love the second bedroom, which is set up for two kids. This was our second stay there, and we'll be back.

A perfect location near downtown Seattle

This a neat and clean 2-bedroom condominium that is located just a block from the Convention Center. You could not be any closer to your conference than this! It was ideal for my convention experience. The kitchen is well-appointed and new. The bathroom is fine with plenty of water pressure and lots of water as hot as you wish. The condo is about a 1-mile walk down Pike Street to the famous Pike Place Market and the Seattle Aquarium. Lots of buses seemed to run the route, but I always walked. It is about 4 or 5 blocks from the Westlake Light Rail Station, so it was easy to get to from the airport. There is a small grocery store one block up Pike Street that has almost anything you might need. There are coin-operated washers and dryers in the building which is convenient.

I would have given it 5 stars except for something perhaps beyond the control of the owners. This is a building full of private condos, so it is hard to control what others do. The people in the unit next to the master bedroom must sit in there and chain smoke. The cigarette smoke penetrates the wall - I am sensitive to smoke so I had to leave the window open, which was OK, but there is traffic noise. I think this problem can be fixed by the owners if they get some clear silicone caulk and caulk up the baseboards and take off the electrical outlet faceplates and caulk around and behind the outlet itself - or get rubber gaskets to put behind the faceplates . That should help a lot. Otherwise an electrostatic air cleaner might be needed. When this problem is fixed it will be a 5-star place!

Great facilities and great location

  • 4 of 5
The apartment was clean and very well equipped, including everything we needed for a baby. Location was great as we didn't have a car but could get around easily walking. Looking at the pictures we were a bit worried that with 3 children it would be a bit too much like a showroom but on arrival we felt right at home and were very comfortable. Something to note is that it is very close to the freeway and therefore quite noisy at night, this didn't disturb our stay but might bother others. Finally, the only negative point for us was the lack of buzzer/intercom/phone. Being from overseas we weren't using our cell phones so it was difficult to order take out or know when friends had arrived downstairs. That said I would be very happy to recommend this apartment to anyone. Thanks for the stay.

Convenient, Clean, Complete!

We thoroughly enjoyed our quick little vacation in the heart of Seattle! This is a beautiful condo with everything our family of 6 needed to enjoy our time. We loved exploring Pike Place, enjoyed a movie at the theater, took advantage of a convenient mini-mart around the corner, chilled with the great TV and comfy furniture... I loved looking at the lit up city all around at night from our cozy, quiet condo! Thanks, Mike and Barbara!

3.5 stars

Loved the location- walkable (i.e. within a mile or so) to Pike's place market, Seattle Center, waterfront, Pioneer square, Elliot Bay Bookstore, Taylor Shellfish market and multiple other things we wanted to do. There is a car renal place around the corner and parking available if needed. It's a $40-$45 cab ride from the airport and there is a train that will take you here from the airport as well.

The owners Barb and Michael are nice and great about getting back to you with questions, concerns, requests. They have very detailed info about check in/out so it should hopefully should be straightforward.

* I'm not sure what is going on with the ventilation system, but there didn't seem to be any at all- we didn't see any vents in any of the rooms (worst, no ventilation system for the bathroom) and even though when we stayed the weather was sunny, clear, 45-60's- we would always come home to a really muggy, stuffy place. The windows don't have screens so opening them to air out the place will let in bugs. Might want to consider some portable fans/ screens for the windows to be able to air out the place.

* Bring your own bath towels! I forgot to measure the towels here- but they look fit for a toddler- way too small and really thin! There is a nearby target if you need to purchase towels.

* Would recommend upgrading the one ply toilet paper as well.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the input. We have built up our ratings based on the recommendations of our guests. The rooms get stuffy if the thermostat on the radiator is not turned down. There are clear instructions in the guest info on how to do this. There is no forced air heating and therefore there are no vents in the rooms, including the bathroom. We do not bring out the fans until summer as the weather is usually still cold. However, we would have brought you a fan or window AC unit at your request had we known of your discomfort.

The screens are a great idea and we will plan on installing them before the summer. We feel that our condo is a quality unit at a fair price and we have outfitted the condo with furnishings we would want in our own home. We are sorry you were dissatisfied with the towels. They are regular sized bathroom towels. We had switched from plush towels to thinner towels in order to conserve water during washing due to the large volume of towels being used. Unfortunately, we have learned though experience that any toilet tissue other than Scott one-ply tissue will usually result in clogs. We do not plan on changing brands in the foreseeable future. We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with your accommodations. We hope you will stay with us again.

We were very happy with the condo. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped as well. The location was wonderful. Just a short walk to downtown Seattle and with the monorail a short ride to Seattle Center. There was no need to rent a car. Mike and Barb were very good to work with. They responded quickly to any email and phone calls we had. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone
