Overview

Property Details

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

One word for this place... (ok... maybe 3 or 4): Hip, Best Location, True New Orleans Living.

Let's take one thing at a time.

Hip: We decorated this condo for maximum comfort and feeling like you are in a hip local funky home. Lots of local art and comfortable furniture to hang out on. Make yourself a cocktail in front or grill some fresh fish from the Lil Fisherman (right there on Magazine) with a cold beer in back. This place is designed for hanging out and feeling like a local.

Best Location: There is no better location in New Orleans. It is quiet and historical, but with everything you need at your fingertips. Watch the parades and walk back to use the bathroom or chill out. Wander through the shops and eat your way through town without needing a cab or a car. This is the Irish Channel... a historical and eclectic neighborhood with all the funk you need within a few blocks..

True New Orleans Living: Whether you just want to hang out in the condo and read or go listen to brass bands til 3AM, this condo lets you do it all. Your neighbors all live and work in New Orleans and there are very few tourists around. You can truly feel and live like a local.

Note... this area of town is on high ground was not flooded!

NO PETS PLEASE!

About the Owner

My husband and I have owned this place since 2005. We renovated the condos and sold them off, keeping one for ourselves as a getaway from grown-up-land. We are excited to share it with you!

OK. We LOVED this place. It is beautiful. Wood floors, old world feeling, very hip. Magazine street is amazing and right there. We found the kitchen totally fine and great. The back patio is funky and fun and cozy and private. Yay! Definitely coming back.

Stayed a week

This property is better suited for a weekend stay. No dresser to put clothes away, had to buy hangers and just a small tv in bedroom. Kitchen is not usable except for the frig because there is no counter space or table to use. While communication was readily answered the owner felt that I was a complainer with my issues - couldn't find the extra toilet paper (next to washer/dryer, not in bathroom), light fixtures missing bulbs, no eating utensils and used female product under the bathroom sink. We enjoy visiting cities and staying at rental homes to get the real feel of the area but this time would have been better to stay at a hotel.

Owner's Response: Holy wow. She was really a pill. I think I got 10 emails from her with separate complaints while she was there. The TV wasn't in a place that was comfortable for her… the toilet paper wasn't there so she had to buy some (it was, she just didn't look), there was no silverware (there was lots of it, she just didn't look). She even found some sanitary items that she didn't need (she let me know "I haven't had my period in years!". Oy.

All You Need!

  • 5 of 5
This condo is perfect for 2-4 that want a nice, comfortable and centrally located stay in New Orleans. Magazine street is a refreshing alternative to the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and has more of a "grown-up" vibe. In addition, the French Quarter and downtown NO are only a short drive away. The neighborhood felt safe and I would definitely stay at this condo again.

Comfortable condo, great location!

  • 5 of 5
We visit NOLA frequently (annually, sometimes more than once a year), and this is the first time we decided to "live like locals." It was GREAT! The condo is small but comfortable, and the location (a few blocks below Mag St.) was great. An easy walk to a ton of shops and restaurants/bars/cafes. The stretch of Magazine St. closest to the property is completely packed with great spots to eat/drink/shop/bum around -- over the course of 5 days, we only ventured into the Quarter three times, and the last time was just to pick up stuff we purchased on an earlier visit. (Yes, there is a WHOLE LOT of New Orleans completely outside the FQ/Marigny!)

A big thanks to Jenny for her tips and responsiveness to our questions in the lead up to our trip!

We had a car, and had no trouble finding parking on the street, and usually directly in front of the condo.

I expect we'll book again next time we're in town!

True New Orleans!!!

  • 5 of 5
Perfect place to truly experience New Orleans like a local. So close to great shops, pubs and places to eat on Magazine Street. Cheap public transportation options via bus on magazine or walk a bit furtherto St. Charles via Louisana for streetca. Both get you into the french quarter. Close to walgreens and local grocery store with amazing organic food selection.

As for the condo itself it was perfect! Clean roomy and quiet. Has everything you may need - coffee maker and washer and dryer was plus! Great private back yard area to enjoy morning coffee and beautiful New Orleans weather.

We felt safe walking around the neighborhood even late at night. Met friendly neighbors everywhere we went.

I am planning to visit New Orleans at least three times a year and this is a place I would love to stay at again.

Great location and apartment looked just like the pictures. A great deal for the rate as well. I would definitely recommend and stay here again if the opportunity arose. Right in the heart of Magazine Street.
