Breckenridge is a year round destination to recreate in the great outdoors. Whether topped with pure white snow in the winter, spring flowers, green pines in summer or golden aspens in the fall, the mountains are always beautiful and romantically rugged offering you many ways to enjoy them.

The adventuresome can participate in all the activities and action the town has to offer. Guestbook comments from the manager

Hey, Chris &Deb, We really enjoyed our stay in the romantic cabin. It was very quiet, comfortable, offered many walking choices for the dogs, and was close to Breckenrige itself. Beside that, you two were very accommodating and respected our privacy. Hi to Tuscany, she too put up with our two dogs. Great time was had by all! Thanks for looking out for us.

COZY SPACE meant for couples

  • 4 of 5
The description clearly states a Romantic Getaway - and it is...although, the price was great, so even though I went with a good friend, we thought we would have plenty of space to relax. Keep the fireplace low as the heat will roast those in the loft (again if going the non-romantic route). Not meant for more than a couple or family..Friend had to hang out in bedroom to watch tv when we were exhausted from snowboarding. Don't get me wrong, this place has all you really need, just not for friends enjoying time away. Great owner, great place...stay romantic AND have a 4wd vehicle. All we needed the cabin for was really sleeping and it was good for that. Fresh Towels, clean cabin, most utensils, etc and a GREAT view of the surrounding mountains. You are butted right up against the owner and above another tenant, but never had a problem. Shane was great and very helpful. Not real close to town to where you would want to walk in the winter, but close enough for a short 5-minute drive. Take Shane's advice on the restaurants and don't buy too much food, because long days on the slopes will have you leaving A LOT of food for the next group...hope whomever you were - enjoyed great food and our beers!

Thanks

Not romantic at all. This is Not a single dwelling, person lives below has dogs that bark all the time. If they blow a fuse someone is knocking on your door to flip a breaker. Windows are where others can look right in keep drapes closed. Queen bed is broke down and not confortable to sleep in. Last guest trash is at back door , there used dirty towels and sheets are in the entry. Kitchen lacks decent pots and pans for cooking couldn't even find a pizza pan or a baking pan. TV is in bedroom hard to view from love seat in living area. You pay a deposit for cleaning but not much cleaning done after last guest. Had to clean out fireplace to use it. Had to wash dishes before using dishes were greasy also fridge had blood in one of the trays. Not what was expected according to listing. Not a cabin more like an apartment dwelling.

Perfect romantic getaway with dog.

Our cabin was decorated just as you'd expect from a mountain cabin with lots of personal touches, it felt more like somewhere you'd live than a rental. Our host Shane was very gracious and easy to work with as well as being very knowledgeable about the area and the wide variety of activities. Being able to have our dog Hector was a big plus. The quiet in this area was also lovely as town can sometimes be a little noisy.

Awesome stay!

This cabin is super cozy and pretty well appointed! The wood stove kicks out a lot of heat and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Owner and manager are professional, courteous, and very helpful. Beautiful views out of every window and the road is relatively easily passed. The driveway is a little steep, but most with 4 wheel drive will be fine (this is only a concern in winter; in the summer it would be easy to drive). Great location near town and gondola with quick and easy access.

A couple of things to keep in mind if you rent: bring your own gallons of water as we found the well water a little less than appetizing City Market grocery is 10 minutes away), if you need to use the loft, plan on climbing a pretty steep ladder, and there is a pretty long stairway that is mostly covered with snow/ice in order to access the cabin.

Just what we wanted!

Adorable home in a perfect location - far enough away that you feel like you're staying in a rustic cabin in the woods, yet only about a 3 minute drive to main street. Everything was provided so that you really feel at home (spices to cook with, soap, firewood - although we did run out of toilet paper - no worries as the City Market is so close!) We really appreciated having a full kitchen with all the pots/pans, utensils, etc needed to cook a meal, it really saves $ on eating out! The wood-burning stove was a nice touch, it's really cozy to curl up by the fire at the end of the day. Home was clean and all appliances in good working order. The shower gets really hot :) My 8 year old nephew absolutely loved that he got the loft all to himself - although I probably wouldn't recommend that sleeping arrangement for younger kids, as it involves a vertical climb up a ladder against the wall. I agree with previous reviewers that a 4WD vehicle is recommended, as the driveway is steep and got a little slick with the snow.

Shane was our host, and he was very accomodating, meeting us at the cabin to give us a tour and show us how to work everything. He even chopped some kindling for us. The owner's home is literally right next door to the cabin, but we never felt as if our privacy was invaded.

We love this property and would definitely stay here again. The only thing that would make this cabin perfect is a hot tub!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and the kind comments. We agree 100% about the loft and kids. We equate the ladder to monkey bars on the playground and kids need to be able to negotiate those to be comfortable going up/down. Sorry you ran out of TP. We have 30 rolls available at any time. Usually there are a couple extra under the sink in the bathroom. Future guests, please ask your host for more. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again. Summers are gorgeous in Breck!

Needle in the haystackt

If you plan on coming to Breckenridge in a vehicle this is the best bang for your buck. First off the hosts, Chris and Deb, are second to none when it comes to help, hospitality and information. There was never a question I had that couldn't be answered. The cabin is well kept, clean and extremely cozy. The kitchen is loaded with everything you'll need for some good down home cooking. Firewood is onsite and plentiful. Although this is a pet friendly cabin you would have never known. Everything was in great working order. Towels, robes and linens would swallow you in their warmth and comfort.

Location was really nice. Litereally less than 5 minute drive from main street. Close enough I even walked down the hill and then back up to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve. Drive time to A-Basin and Keystone was no more than 25 minutes. Just a great location. The city market in town is close, reasonably priced and as loaded as any grocery store I have ever seen.

There are a few things to note. If you do drive, a 4x4 or all wheel drive is desirable. There is a small hill to go up which isn't a problem except on the slickest of days. Note that the roads are well maintained so this shouldn't be a problem. Also there is no washer and dryer on the site. No big deal as the laundromat is closer to the cabin than main street is. I would start the clothes and simply walk around main street until they were done. Just another excuse to get out of the cabin!! Keep in mind that you will not have to wash the towels or linens as the hosts take care of that. Only your personal clothes.

Will I be back? You better believe it!! Hopefully this spring so you better make your reservations before I do because this truly is such a hidden gem. I had such an awesome time there. Even took a day with the host to find a few back stashes that I didn't know about. Like I said before ANY questions you have Chris and Deb can answer and make your stay a more joyful and memorable time.
